Hi, Although we did not experience any network problems on our side, we have had several reports of packet loss and server downtime, mostly from the UK and other parts of Europe. Since the problem was not on our side, and nobody unfortunately submitted a traceroute to us, we are unable to determine where the problem was and can only guess that it was probably a uplink failure at either Cogent or Global Crossings, or perhaps a link failure (possibly from another provider) between the UK and the US, as most reports seem to have come from the UK and 0 reports have come from the US, Australia and China. If you look at the MRTG graphs of your server, you do see constant traffic without interruption (if you have visitors from parts of the world other then Europe) that can confirm that our datacenter was not down. The problem was out of our control, so there is not much we can tell about or could have done about this issue at the time it occured... we were not even aware of any issues untill some people reported that their server was down while it was up and running without a problem. We are just glad everybody seems to be able to make a proper connection to our network again, and hope it was just some sort of quick maintenace to a connection on the route to our network. Even though it was not our fault, we do apologise for any inconvenience to our clients that were affected by this problem may have experienced, we always do our best to monitor the network from alot of places in the world to ensure a stable connection for the entire world. Sincerely, - Liroy Last edited by DedicatedBox; 03-03-2008 at 01:22 AM.
