Hi, using the copy multiple accounts option on my WHM am planning to copy every account from my old server to my new one in another datacenter. Question: How can i avoid ANY downtime? the problem is with the DNS, All the accounts are using the same dns.mydomain.com but how to set them properly on the new server so when changed the pointers to the new Í.P.'s with my domain registrar there is no failure? thanks.

as long as database inserts are not a problem just have all the sites on both servers until the move is complete

I copy all the accounts from our old to the new one, now i need to set up the nameservers of our domain into the new server right? assign IP address and all that... i was looking for a guide to this...

you are correct, just make sure to leave all files on the old server also and change the ip addresses of your name servers and it will move over shortly

1.- SingUP to new HOST, with other domain for reseller purpose.... example: seconddomain.com 2.- create and register your new DNS ex: ns1.seconddomain.com ns2.seconddomain.com 3.- Wait 48/72 hours for propagation new DNS 4.- DON`T DELETE any accounts in OLD host 5.- Create / Copy all account in the new host 6.- CHANGE DNS in your domains ->with your domain reg. ex: network solutions etc etc 7.- Wait 48/72 hours 8.- END your account move to new host without any downtime.... 9.- Copy email form old to new host See You Foxmen

how do you "9.- Copy email from(sic) old to new host"?

For any DB driven sites, you should change the config files on your old host to connect with the DB on your new host. Therefore all users pulling up files from your old host, are still updating the correct DB on the new host.

I guess using the copy accounts function one more time but that could just delete any changes made recently on the new server right?

When you change DNS and wait for "propagation" when this done!!! you maybe have some emails in your OLD host and the new host do not have these emails... ( if the client has a lot traffic of email)

Yes, how do you transfer these emails? Especially for all my clients?

As long as you update DNS to new IPs on old server + new server + registrar (if you have ns1/ns2 with them) then you should be fine. Leave old machine up for about 3-5 days to allow for older mail hosts caching your old IPs to find the new server (my personal preference)
