Need reseller account with fast support.

Posted by sprouter, 01-15-2006, 07:46 AM
Hi, I don't want to spend anymore than $10 or at the most $13 per month for a very basic reseller package just to start me off untill I actually get some customers (have only one atm). I would love some recomendations from what I have listed here as my requirements. Thanks for your help. I want the following from the potential host: Disk Space = 1.5+Gb Bandwidth = 20+Gb Linux based = YES Cpanel/fantastico = YES Domains & Subdomains = unlimited Private Nameservers = YES End-User Support = FREE Provide uptime stats = YES Guaranteed uptime = YES Money back guarantee = YES Instant (or fast) upgrades = YES fees associated with upgrading = NO Fast support response = YES Setup Fee = $0 Price per month = Less than $12.50 VERY IMPORTANT!!!! MUST BE IN TRADING FOR LONGER THAN 18-MONTHS Any recommedations? Please tell me if I am aiming too high - I understand that $10 or $13 is not a lot of money but If any host can fill this please contact me. Thank you

Hosts aren’t allowed to contact you or reply to this thread advertising their services. Try browsing the offers forum, you will most likely find many hosts that fit the bill there

Sorry didn't know that I did seach through there and also other sites / comparisons etc but I wanted to maybe get some "recommendations" that will help me as I am sure there are some people here using reseller hosting with the above requirements.

Yep, there will probably be heaps with the same requirements as you. I think it is early morning in the US (late at night here), so wait a couple of hours and there should be some recommendations

What you ask for is OK until I hit: End-User Support = FREE At that point, I think your budget is far to low for what you are asking for...a 1.5GB allowance can have quite a few accounts and for the provider to support both you and all of them for $12.50 per mo...well I do not see how to keep the lights on with that one. I could be wrong, but I do not see how you give "fast support" at that price with that level of individual support. If you drop that requirement I think your needs are quite reasonable and many good companies would be ready to serve your needs.

Yeah, it can be hit and miss. You can always search for a hyperactive host, fanatical about support. They are out there. But you also want consistency. There are alot of smaller companies offering reseller services, and many appear to have solid hosting. Do some research. There are alot of companies and hosts to choose from. Hopefully you can stay away from the bad apples.

Sorry my mistake I should not have put free "end user" support - that was a mistake I should have just said "free support". Please, I will go now and edit my original post. Please tell me now what you think. (don't know why I said end user ) edit.. mmm for some reason I can't edit my original post... anyway please ignore "end user" thanks.

Now you are cooking with fire...hahaha. You will find many good companies, long on "time in business" and with very good reputations that can and will take that deal...if you find someone close...e-mail them and ask if the can stretch a little to meet all your needs...worse they can say is no. Good luck and I wish you good hunting.

Most hosts will give you free support, up to a point. Your not going to get much help with 3rd party scripts or basic issues that are on your end of things. You'll get support usually with control panel issues, usage, if things start to not work, if you need something explained, etc. Reseller hosting is just advanced shared hosting. you're still in the same environment for the most part. But many hosts seem to have a totally different definition of every aspect of this game. Essentially, if you search around you'll find someone shooting out plans from an angle you can find quite copasetic.

Do a search in the offers section and pick out a few good hosts and do a search on WHT for reviews.

Your best bet with support response time is to just test a company's staff yourself. Go on their live chat, see if someone's there, call them up, see if anyone from the tech support department is available, guage response times from their e-mail addresses, etc.
