TCP WRAPPER

Posted by rankris, 06-17-2011, 02:36 AM
I want to add a rule to my hosts.allow file (CPANEL) server. In which for a certain cpanel account I want FTP access from a single IP. For other cpanel accounts I dont want to have this limit. How can I write a rule about this?

Hi You can only limit to the ip for the whole server and not the individual account. Thanks

you wont be able to do that with tcpwrappers, if you use pureftpd you can do it, not sure on proftpd. http://download.pureftpd.org/pub/pur....Virtual-Users

Couldnt there be any workaround for this requirement?

Assuming that you have pure-ftp. Then this should restrict a users FTP access only from a single IP address # Uncomment the PureDB line within /etc/pure-ftpd.conf # restart Pure-FTPd # pure-pwconvert | grep > /etc/pureftpd.passwd # chmod 600 /etc/pureftpd.passwd # pure-pw usermod -r -f /etc/pureftpd.passwd # pure-pw mkdb
