Exchange 2003 and 2010

Posted by Jeremy, 05-11-2011, 07:03 PM
I have a single domain with a sum of users and mail boxes currently running exchange 2003. Today I installed a Exchange 2010 on the network and this is where the fun started. My boss requested 2003 and 2010 be on at the same time scratching my head as to why anyways I installed the 2010 pretty much with everything default only changed the outgoing to the 2003 and mbox locations / logs. On the 2003 side I allowed the 2010 box. I moved my account from the 2003 to the 2010 the moved went fine changed my outlook and everything pulled up great, connected to OWA and that was great. What am i missing to get this 2010 online to send emails within the domain? I cant send anything between the 2003 and 2010. I moved my account back and all is well but for the last 4 hours beating my head as to why I cant figure it out. I check all the connectors and they look fine. Any advice from the gurus?

Turns out my issues was related to smarthosts... Removed the smarthosts from the SMTP and created a Mail route with the smarthost. Woohoo
