Hi, what technical issues are important to know before start reselling? what are the most common problems that clients ask about? ... and any other thing you think is important to know Thanks.

I think the most important thing to know is that reselling isn't a quick and easy way to earn cash, and judging from the way you are asking these kind of stuff, it'll be better if you rethink going into reselling

I concur. The OP might want to do some hard thinking before actually investing the time/effort into this venture

Yeah, take this from experience - the hosting business is not all cookies and and cream

I actually prefer chocolate chip cookies. As for reseller hosting, if you're going to host a few friends and a few personal sites, thats fine, but if you're going to try and launch something big, then I would re-think the reseller approach. As for what you'd need to know in order to be a reseller, you'll need to provide your clients support, so you need to be proficient with the control panel you will be using (for example CPanel), you want to be familiar with the hosting industry (terms, pricing, trends).

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6 You need to read as many topics there as you can.

Not 100% necessarily though, as some providers support the end users and since pretty much everything can be solved with money, there are other solutions available as well (like outsourcing support). Agreed. Also, before starting the business it is important to research the various control panels out there.

Oops, I think I haven´t asked properly as a result of my "non-english spoker" condition. I didn´t decide two days ago start reselling, I have read many topics, visited many related websites, studied many control panels, billing softwares, payment gateways...etc. I have understood till now what it is important to know. I have read many pricing tutorials, advertising issues. I do have also some technical experience, I´ve just made two quick questions to receive more deeply answers. Perhaps, the first question was not correct, but I can´t see the problem with the second. I just want you to share what does usually people find harder to deal with when they sign up for a web hosting. Anyway, if I make those two questions, it means that I´m trying to learn before "investing the time/effort into this venture". The way to learn is sometimes asking. Asking doesn´t means that after receiving you replies I will sign up for a reseller hosting plan and start my own hosting bussiness. I´m not an idiot. Not only hosting industry is not just cookies and cream, and that´s why this forums exists. Just share your knowledge. Thanks!

I couldn't agree less. Starting with a reseller account is a great (and time tested) way to build up your hosting company. Not only do you gain a wealth of knowledge from your provider, but you have clear and concise upgrade paths for when the time comes to "go it alone". The added incentive of starting with lower operating prices is an obvious one. Simon

I'm a newbie, so I know nothing. I'm doing it for my own little web-sites and learning how this is done before I really think about competing. I did it because I wanted one place to keep my toys together, and build or bust them as I see fit. Launching something big? Since I am "newbie", could someone explain how being so low on a pyramid be profitable? Seriously...., I would like to find the #1 host, or maybe the #5 host and see their deal...., not the tenth of the eighth of the #1 host. Is this not a correct assumption?
