dumpe2fs /dev/sda| grep superblock
that will give you a list of backup superblocks to try.
Then try running fsck -b xxxxx /dev/sda
Where xxxx is the back up blocks from the first print out.

Hope you have a back up of the data on the drive.
You can try gpart or debugfs on it and hope you can save it.

dev/sda2 is an LVM partition... you can't run fsck directly on it, rather you would run it on an ext3 volume contained within it.

fastserv,
Can you tell me how ?

Run lvdisplay
The try running something like this.
fsck /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
I doubt it will make a dif.
Only other choice I can think of is to type touch forcefsck
Then reboot and pray.
