Upgrading php 5.2.x to 5.3.x

Greetings everyone. I was wondering if anyone has taken the step from php 5.2.9 to php 5.3,6 and what issues you encountered if any? I searched the net and everyone seems to talk like upgrading won't cause any issues, but I contacted my vps provider (hostdime) and got this response: So did anyone do the upgrade and have everything smash to bits? I'm currently on 5.2.9 and looking to upgrade to 5.3.6. I also tried searching here on wht, but typing "upgrade php 5.2.x to 5.3.x" seems to not give any useful information. Thanks!

I would recommend upgrading to 5.2.17 and stay with that for the time being. It is true, there are a lot of scripts out there that simply will not work with PHP 5.3. I've noticed it is namely youtube video scripts and the like. So, if you host a lot of sites, stick with 5.2.
