QuickPacket - Beware and Be Warned to All

Quickpacket as you may already know faced 4 hour downtime last night. Many clients tried calling them, no one picked up. There were no email sent, no updates made until 2 hours after the fix was done (6 hours later). For many old clients, they were not worried because they trusted them. I had joined them just 4 days before and I was "Freaked" out. My clients were cursing me and calling me up every few minutes on the issue and all I could say is "I dont know"
QuickPacket after the encounter updated WHT with a small reply. However, supposedly they never emailed or contacted clients AFTER the issue personally which should have been done. So if I hadnt been at WHT, i still wouldnt have known a thing.
As a result, my clients want me to change hosts (reseller host) since they are worried about the lack of management of my Reseller Host (QuickPacket). Which I would tend to agree.
I asked for a refund which was rejected outright saying they didnt give refunds. Fine, I asked them to help me move my sites over to my NEW host (the least they can do ) they refused that. I had a chat with support staff member about this and he/she argued with me over the issue. And expected me to stay with them after this ...never mentioning once that she/he was wrong and they should have done something to keep us (clients) aware. They had our contact numbers when we signed up with them, email ids, - they should or could have contacted us. They didn't .
I just wanted to move and still do. They refuse to help and say they wasted their time with my other issues (transferring sites over , etc). Let me ask you if they think they wasted their time...what do they think they wasted of mine!!! and my clients time and mind!
Im openly challenging this type of mismanagement. I will not say I am right about everything but for one thing THEY ARE WRONG about almost everything - and you can see from the chat (unedited totally so I apolgoize for any non-professional language I used since I was and still am frustrated over this)....

Other than the downtime, I believe we have gone out of our way to help you, going above and beyond what we normally do for customers. I doubt WHT will see us as a bad host simply because of some downtime.

Quickpacket:Other than the downtime, I believe we have gone out of our way to help you, going above and beyond what we normally do for customers. I doubt WHT will see us as a bad host simply because of some downtime.

Hello,
I’ll respond to a few things about your post.
We are very sorry for the down time that happened, and are taking steps to correct it.
- We're implementing an off-network status web page so in the future we can post things if necessary. It will be available at www.statuspacket.com in the future.
- We're planning to upgrade our routing platform.
- We're in the process of adding an additional upstream provider.
- We're looking into upgrading our phone system to allow for some kind of update about network status.
We realize that downtime is not a good thing. We have offered you a credit as spelled out in our SLA towards your next month's bill. We are committed to a continued relationship with you if you are willing to continue to work with us.
We do not allow a user to have root access to any of our virtual or reseller servers for any reason. WHM has a built in tool that allows you to copy accounts without the use of a root password, and there is nothing preventing you from doing so.
Our sales team and other staff are typically not available to post on this forum at night. We typically have one person on duty at night for technical support requests, and that has been more than sufficient to handle normal requests. If there was a need to, we would not hesitate to add additional people at night.
We do not offer telephone technical support. Calls to our phone system are permitted for dedicated server and co-location customers only in the event of an emergency. As we have previously stated, the emergency calls were not properly routed to the on-call technician. Instead, they were inadvertently routed to an off-duty technician who had his phone powered off. As stated above, we're looking into other options for a phone system.
Our policy states that all fees paid are non-refundable. You agreed to this policy when you signed up. We are willing to issue a service credit towards your next month's bill as has been discussed in your support ticket about the SLA credit.
I hope this clears some things up. Again, we apologize for the downtime, and hope that we can continue to work with you in the future.

Also, I just thought I'd add, since you had a customized order, you didn't get the normal welcome letter. I apologize that you did not get the link to www.mypacket.com in the welcome letters you received. It is in the normal welcome letters.
