Need some GOOD suggestions...

Well, I've almost had it with my old host (not going to mention them because it's irrelevant and that's all the other people do in this section). I haven't really had problems with them, it's just that one key element in a reseller's account is somewhat glitched with them. Everytime someone with a reseller account from this host makes an account in WHM, they need to notify support so that they can get a manual NS refresh performed. This is annoying because to my understanding, the only guy that can do it is only in on Mon-Fri and I do most of my user creations on the weekend. I'm trying to be loyal to this host as long as possible. I try to give them as many second chances as I can. Currently, they are working on fixing the problem, I talked with the president and they said it's caused by the duplicate of NS throughout their servers and that it isn't clear in the programming where to point th domain, thus requiring a NS refresh to activate everything. Even though it's one problem, it can easily turn a 36 hour propagation into a 96 hour fiasco. I made some accounts friday night, told my clients that within 24 hours, they'd be up. Well, it's been like almost 48 hours, and the NS aren't scheduled to refresh until late tonight or sometime tomorrow. Anywho, if someone knows any host that provides good reseller hosting, this is what I'm looking for. Price: $20 or less Space: 5GB+ Bandwidth: 60GB+ Unlimited everything else GOOD support And that you've dealt with them for a reasonable amount of time and have experienced little to no problems with the service. Thanks, -Hata

Hi Hata, welcome to the Forum. I would agree that the current DNS setup you are in is a bit strange. Although your price -to- features ratio may not get you Hosting services as good as you desire, something you definitely need to provide in your request in what type Server OS (Windows or Linux) you desire and type of Control Panel. Normally, Features / Price / Support can be checked out before signing up with anyone. The last point to consider, Service or Uptime, cannot usually be determined until one actually starts using it. Various places allow for Free or Paid uptime monitoring and well worth using. Three we use are: http://easymonitor.com/ http://siteuptime.com/ http://host-tracker.com/ Using a combination of all on one Hoster or each on different Hosters, can give you a good idea on their Service before using them. And, as people are quick to complain and slow to praise -- just the way we are I guess -- look for a Forum at your potential Hoster. Reading through various posts will give a good idea of how other people judge the Hoster along with how they reply to posts. Overall, research and patience are two important tools when checking most things, Hosting or otherwise.

You probably already know about the Shared & Reseller Hosting Offers forum, but it sounds like you want suggestions of specific hosts, not ideas of where to look. What CP do you want? Where should the servers be located? Any other specific requirements? Lois

Well, I guess it's not that big of a deal now, they just refreshed everything and I was able to tell the good news to about 5 clients so as long as their support doesn't mind, I don't mind either. I was interested in cPanel/WHM/Fantastico primarily.
