38h (R.I.P ??)

Do anyone know what realy happened to 38h? Once they where a solid, reliable hosting company, now I think they are gone. Service slowed down, they stoped taking new costumers (claimed it was due to network and hacker problems), did not respond to e-mail requests etc, now they seeme to have dissapaired completely.

I can't reach 38h.com at this momment in time. The site in your profile is down as well (is it hosted by them?). How long has been this going on?

Yes, its hosted by them. But that site was going down for a "makeover" anyway, so it didnt mather. Whats was more important was the other sites who are my costumers (38h reseller) I think I managed to move all this sites before it all went down. The 38h site seemed to go down sep. 14 or 15, I noticed it in the morning the 15. The control panel has been slow for a while, and once in a while even failing (SQL error) or leaving me unable to log into, they didnt answer any of my last support issues either... as Iv been with 38h for years, I didnt want to move but has been searching for alternative hosts a while, just in case... a couple of weeks ago I desided to move and was going to make the DNS changes this weekend. If you want, you can read other posts I found here: http://www.freewebspace.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=71238

I see there that the trouble there didn't start recently. It's bad to see a company shutting down like this.

Thats why Iv been looking for a while, but I hoped I never had to move. If they really shutdown for good, I whis they at least could tell us.

its still one site I need to move I do have a backup of this site, but I think its outdated. This is one customer I didnt reach before 38h went down, and therby the last one I would move. Still no CD as requested (and promised on their website before it went down), and no response to any e-mails

Congratulations for having a backup, even if it is rather old. It's way better than nothing. Personally I would not put too much hope on a business that has pretty much dissapeared, to send me a CD.
