Lower ping?

Posted by nidhal, 03-18-2011, 11:38 AM
Hello, I just bought a VPS for a company, the server location in Germany. I had to test the ping since it is very important for gaming server, when I ping my IP(xx.xx.xx.204) I got like 76ms but when I ping(xx.xx.xx.203) I get like 60ms... How can you explain this deference? Is there any tutorial that can help me to low the ping? I can provide both IP if needed Regards.

I guess the first thing you need to identify is whether the .204 IP is bound to the same hardware as the .203 server.

Try running a pathping to both IP's and see what routes and latency they get.

I will try to ask the provider. I made a trace http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/4328/trace.png

I don't consider this as a big issue....This may happen depending on network performance

it`s due to your local computer or server network performance . ping it from domaintools.com or ping.eu
