Hosting Needed for 24 Hours

Posted by BLazeD, 09-12-2005, 05:41 PM
Hi all My server is going to be down tomorrow for a few hours, and so I need to get a reseller account (for multiple websites) for that time. Can anyone recommend a reliable cpanel provider with instant account activation (upon paying via paypal), that could host me for that period. I realise I will have to pay for a whole month, but $15 or under would be good.

Moved to Reseller Hosting Forum. Lois

If you need quick account activiation, I would suggest contacting the host first and arranging a deal. The best thing you can do is look for hosts around the forum (you will find many!) and then search them back into the forum to find reviews. Good luck.

do you realize the inconvenience of switching dns and moving accounts to the new server etc will porbably cost you more than just sitting out the downtime? like are the websites so critical?

Quick question - Why is your current host going to be down for a day? I understand the concept of scheduled downtime, but a full day is a bit much.

Not to mention that you'd have to do the changeover a few days before to allow for the world to update it's DNS records.

This really depends. If they are static pages and they are not using their current host for DNS servers, a simple update of the A record will update much quicker.

I'd suggest you stay away from instant activation.
