allreseller is down and can't get up

Posted by shqipo, 07-19-2006, 10:03 AM
I posted this as a reply to someone else but I'm opening a new thread. Perhaps "webuyhosts" (allreseller) will decide to provide some support after reading this, since they don't have a forum on their site - nor reply to their support tickets. In the beginning they were OK. Because I am not paying much, I wasn't expecting 24 hour support - and it shows because they start responding when a business day starts on West Coast (3 hours behind EST). However, these past 3 days have been terrible. I think they've bought too many servers and there's only one person (Zack?) who is probably the owner of the co. who provides support. One of their servers (spokane) got hacked in by some @sshole in Chile and now they can't get the server up and running. If you look here:http://stats.allreseller.com/ it shows that server completely out. Sometimes only some services are out. I have an ecommerce client on that server and it's been 2 days today we have no service. allreseller replied only to my first trouble ticket. Here's what Zack's response was two days ago (last response I got): "This is not just us, there was a new exploit released this weekend, and many hosts have fallen victem to this. We are correcting the issues and it will be resolved soon, thank you for your pateinces." Well, apparently these "many" victim hosts they mention don't exist and they're the only ones who are having this issue. Read my thread here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...49#post3995949. I sent other emails these past 2 days asking what is going on, and never received a response. Yesterday I sent an email telling them if it's not up and running by this morning at 8 AM EST, they should pay my money back. Guess what? Server is still very much down, and I haven't heard from them.

My reseller account with Allreseller is also on Spokane. I've gotten pretty much the same responses to my trouble tickets. Most recent response Zack indicated that they were moving all accounts onto a different server - that was about 9 hours ago. Been with Allreseller less than 2 months. Looks like I picked a bad one.

Sounds like your a client of another one of 'those' kind of hosts. Good luck getting your issues sorted out. Hopefully they'll come back online soon .

On that link you sent it only shows that FTP is down and everything else is working.

I also have a reseller account on Spokane. I checked my sites 14 hours back and they were all down. I wrote them through their support system but surprisingly my ticket was deleted. I wrote them through support@allreseller.com which is still not answered. If they do not start their services or reply to the mail, I may cancel the account with them.

That status changes. Sometimes all parts are working, sometimes ftp is down, sometimes MySQL or SMTP, etc. - or a combination.

Hello On behalf of allreseller This issue is just about resolved, sites will start showing soon. We run 50 servers and this was out of our control, everything will return back to normal soon, i am checking the board to see your tickets to make sure everyone was replied to.

Interesting, I attempted to check the stats URL provided and it fails to load, possibly an indication of further problems or high load due to customers constantly attempting to check the status of the downed server. I do hope you manage to obtain access to your hosting and that the provider compensates you accordingly, alternatively, consider looking for an alternative provider, there are more than enough to choose from who should be able to accommodate you then again, situations such as this arise and are sometimes can get out of control, if you were happy with the service initially, then this could have indeed been a one of situation.

Still down - 58 hours now. 27 hours ago I got a response to trouble ticket that sites were being moved to another server. I have started uploading some of my sites to another server myself - not an Allreseller server. Will be looking for a refund of hosting fees, although I don't hold out much hope.

I am able to login to the WHM control panel and POP3 mails are working. But the sites seem to be lost. Hope they are working on it.

today, indi has been hacked... When you have been hacked on your allreseller account, was it the support team which restored the index pages or you had to do it?

Posted by djallan, 07-28-2006, 12:33 AM
Good luck to you. I had to upload about 35 index.html, index.php files to get my sites back up. It may be that Allreseller would have eventually restored them but who knows when. Allresellers didn't send out notice that server was back up or that index pages needed to be restored. Maybe they were going to go ahead and do it someday?

Hi djallan, Has your accounts be moved on another server like you told it in this thread? My accounts has all been restored by support, it seems I am lucky!!

Posted by Vteksoft, 07-28-2006, 02:43 PM
I hardly have 3-4 sites on this server. Out of which 1 client opted to leave me due to this problem. So I had to upload only 2 index pages. It was not a big issue for me. Honestly speaking for a reseller account of $5.95 per month I do not expect a big deal from them. Whatever they are providing is worth their price.

god bless you for sticking thru this headache, all issues have been resolved , thank you for being our customer

No I was told that all accounts were being moved off Spokane but all my allreseller sites are still on Spokane. They never were up and running on any other Allreseller server. Personally I don't think anyone should have to PAY for that kind of aggravation.

it is not so bad..... my ips on indi are blacklisted, not yours .... lucky guy !
