SonataWeb (Greenday) Down ?

Posted by nex99, 07-04-2006, 10:22 AM
I have a reseller account with SonataWeb (Greenday Server). All of my sites are down for more than 6 hours. i also fail to connect with their support system. Anyone else have the same problem?

Posted by WireNine, 07-04-2006, 10:27 AM
http://www.sonataweb.info/showthread.php?t=799 Looks like their helpdesk license expired a month ago, and they still have not obtained a new one.

That server must be jinxed or something..

Posted by mesobob, 07-04-2006, 11:28 AM
There was a thread in the resellers forum about problems at Sonataweb. Sadly since Terry sold the company it has never been the same. Greenday certainly was jinxed back around Xmas and New Year period.

The helpdesk works; https://secure.synergyblue.com/helpdesk/index.php That's probably going to be your best bet since the techs that are still around do respond. Getting in touch with Andy is near impossible, but if you want to try, you can call him directly at +1.917-637-0702.

Greenday has been online for 11 days, 22 hours, and 18 minutes. We did recently install some anti-ddos software. Could the OP please open a helpdesk ticket so I can check his or her ip address against our firewall?

Could not agree more, it is a sad case off affairs, though my servers been working, this is a nightmare situation. I feel sorry for the other clients who are not aware of the situation. I myself had tickets, billing related open for weeks and no reply :-(

Where does that leave the existing customers? If Andy is not responding, I think the customers should pack the bags and run away. Or who is actually paying for the servers? Is Terry coming back at SW? This saga never refuses to die down. More questions than answers !!!

Existing customers will have no isses as long as they do not need Andy's attention. Support may be a bit delayed, but it is still there. It is not always that easy for some. Especially if they are unable to prevent further billing, and/or get their refund. It's not an easy task without the other party cooperating. Andy/SynergyBlue is paying for the servers now, to the best of my knowledge. I do not believe so, but I'll let him respond to that one Hard to get answers when you can't get a hold of the person with the answers

That all very good, but as a customer and requested bill support weeks ago and nothing and would say that is a very big issue. Without billing support there is serious problems. Thank you Paypal :-) I am taking that is a guess and not actual fact? because that is not very comforting at all knowing that people run business of the servers and with what has been going on for weeks now and Andy being the only one incharge of billing and there is nothing from him. To the best of my knowledge with what is going on at the moment I would not be suprised if the servers are unplugged without warning. One thing I agree with you there. The thing is as customers we should be able to get hold of him. Knowing for fact that orders have been taken and money taken but people have not had accounts set up and the lack of responce, I believe he has got some questions he needs to answer. The worse thing as well is that thing have gone so bad within a short time, I for one thought the service was great when I joined up even wrote a great review for them which is posted on WHT. But now I can't trust this situation with my business living day by day. As i said before I feel sorry for the clients that don't know what is going on, because i might not have known if it was not for I needed some billing support.

Hey! Wheres Andy?

Sorry for the Off-topic here, but inogenius did you sold SW?

Posted by TheDon, 07-05-2006, 02:49 PM
Yes he did a quick use of our good friend Search you will find 100's of posts relating to the sale.

Andy seems to have gone on a World Tour. Jokes aside, it is a serious condition because I think that someday the servers might be unplugged for default in payments. Did I say I see another failed sale of a good web hosting company? it seems like that unless Terry jumps in. Interestingly, I saw Terry is still using AIM of 'Sonataweb'. Should that have been parted at the time of sale? I am sorry, but I have been keeping a close watch of the situation at SW. And it seems that Terry might be trying his bit to salvage something for his old customers. But again, more questions than answers.

why Andy needs to gone? What happend behind the doors?

Posted by Tyler, 07-05-2006, 03:46 PM
That's something only Andy can answer

Posted by IGobyTerry, 07-05-2006, 07:13 PM
I've tried to help, infact I was working up to December without pay, until I realized I was still doing the same amount of work (a.k.a. running the show) while working full time at my new position. I still have the SonataWeb screen name though I haven't used it for quite a bit now, unless I hop on by mistake. Andy hadn't shown any interest in it during the sale, so I kept it since I had quite a few people in the industry like that I enjoyed talking to. I made an offer to buy the company back last week, but I didn't get any real response from Andy. I know a few SonataWeb employee's have tried to purchase it as well, but they got about as far as I did. But Andy, if you do still read WHT, give me a call, or at least pick up your phone when I do. That's about all I really know regarding the company anymore. There was a lot of different ideas that were talked about during the initial period after the sale, I haven't seen any one of those put into place though.

I think you would have a lot of support from the community Terry

Posted by premium20, 07-06-2006, 03:09 AM
Well, to sum up Terry and the support have always tried to prevent SW from being sullied. And there is no doubt that the community has backed them and will back them. But can Andy allow a company and a brand to decay like this? Its a shame, that one person can spoil the name of a good standing company in a matter of few months. I hope Andy Wu works out his finances and sells this to either Terry or SW support comprising of Mike Bailey. This will be a perfect gift for old customers who picked SW due to Terry and his team.

Posted by TheDon, 07-06-2006, 01:32 PM
Well that seems to be the case. We will see about that as far as I am concerned the damage is already done, and how can you trust a company which if the above in you post does happen, a buy out again, 3 owners in 9 months ? Time will tell , I myself have already started moving and I know of 5 other clients which have moved. What a waste of a good company, and i sute do feel for Terry seeing what has happened to his baby :-( P.S. Plus i was due to write my 6 month review as well which I am going to go ahead with for WHT, I just wish it was under better situation.
