Dedicated servers for same application on different racks

Hi guys,
My website, that is currently hosted on a dedicated server A, started to grow so I decided to move the MySQL database and mail to another dedicated server B, in other words split the load.
The problem is server B is on another rack, possible data center, and a ping stat from server A to server B goes over 2ms. The web server from A will need to connect to MySql from server B.
The question is - should I keep this configuration or try to have both servers A & B on same rack.
Thanks!

You'll get a way lower ping rate if they are on the rack.
However you could try creating a virtual private network (VPN) connection between the 2. That might speed things up.

2 ms should work
It's not very long if you think about it
