How important are tutorials?

Posted by mpoulsen, 02-28-2005, 12:52 PM
Hi all, I am thinking of investing in the superpack tutorials (WHM/cPanel/DNS....) from demodemo.com for my hosting company. My question is if you think it is important? More and more hosts are offering them, but does anybody actually want them or have it as a criteria for choosing hosting company? It would be great to hear your experiences with both using and/or offering them. I'd say its somehow important. It could somehow lower your suppot ticket or questions if people can just have a clip to look at when its just a common questions or setups.

Our customers really enjoy them as it is easier sometimes to watch the tutorials than understand written explanations.

They are like gold. We have over 240 of them from DemoDemo, and they do the job beautifully. Simon

Flash tutorials are great. But why pay when you get them for free? BrandedDemo.com had around 20 of them available for free but they closed it down. Here are some mirrors you can have http://208.53.131.8/flash/html.rar - The HTML files of the flash pages http://208.53.131.8/flash/cpanel-xskin.rar - The FLA files

Flash tutorials are great! We purchased the demodemo ones back in 2003 I believe and they are good. When helping clients we direct them to the tutorials which shows them what they need.

A chunck of support used will come from the initial periods of a server being setup. Although I find most users prefer calling in for help, tutorials still help in reducing the overall number of calls. This IMHO is very worth it.

For the "FLA" files they come in .CP format How do I use that?

Posted by layer0, 03-04-2005, 06:45 PM
Oh whoops. Those are .cp files which are for Macromedia Captivate, you can download a 30 day trial for free at http://www.macromedia.com

Our sales increased when we started offering them so we continually add to them from demodemo.com when ever we can.

Tutorials are a very good idea, they will decrease the amount of customer queries and question by a great amount!

I will have to concur with most people here. Flash tutorials are simply great and our entire customer base loves it. I myself also learn a great deal from these type of tutorials.
