Hi, ive been thinking about starting a hosting business for a while with just a few questions i need clearing up. The reseller plans at HostGator look pretty reasonable, but im not sure because of all the comotion ive heard? Also what would be some reasonable packages to offer to people, eg begginer, intermediate and advanced, i mean like space, b/w, email, mysql databases etc. Whats everyones oppinions of the WHMautopilot software? does it intergrate well with payment gateways and domain registrars (enom)? Do most people here start out with reseller packages then go to a dedicated server? Thanks!

As far as packages to offer people, you have to do a few calculations. You have to look at the amount of space/bandwidth you have, and the amount you are paying your host, and just divide your space/bandwidth to packages in a way that you'll make enough money to cover the prices (server/advertising, etc), and have some money left for yourself by the end of each month. I use WHMAP, and I've had no problems with it thus far. Its very easy to use, and it has some great features. And yes, it does integrate with ENOM (although I don't use this feature). Finally, I think its a good idea to start off as a reseller. Just to see if you can actually find enough customers to be able to move to a dedicated server. Good luck!

You might get in over your head if you jump straight to a dedicated. You should find a reliable re-seller hosting company and start off there.
