RAID? Sounds like could be bad disk or RAM, or just software issue.

internal server error" issued by lighttpd could be if the files are not owned by the suPHP user group If you cant SSH to the VPS, then your VPS are down as well. Give it a reboot and see if it improves. Also check the logs

Is the server overloaded?

What do the logs say?

Sounds like a bad disk causing read-only FS. Have your disks checked...

It may not even be a bad disk, an overloaded node could exhibit this behavior. If a VPS user was heavily hitting the disk and CPU, they could lock up the node. Definitely check the logs before doing anything. If its a bad disk, it will show up in the logs.

That and if he's running a single non-enterprise SATA it could have begun killing the drive due to load as well.

Hello, You get this error when the hdd is not working properly and had some bad sectors. The problem is that when you receive this error you are also not able to work on your server remotely through ssh which means that there are particular sections in your HDD which is corrupted and when HDD reads that part your server is hanged up. Run fsck once on your main node to check this. Normally you can contact your DC to get this checked.

check " cat /proc/user_beancounter " Check which parameter is showing failcont and ask the provider to increase it.

Hillockhosting he own the box that holds VPS servers. As suggested above, can be related to hdd failures.
