Anyone know of a reseller on the planet that offers plesk 7? They must be reputabel company that has a great support. They must also offer BOTH windows and linux hosting to reseller.

not sure of any that offer BOTH linux and windows... but there are definitely good PLESK hosts out there. do you currently use windows... or is it simply something you want to add?

You should be able to just buy hosting from a windows host and hosting with linux for the other. You'll find a much better combination of quality than forcing yourself to buy from a place that happens to offer both.

Not sure about the dual operating systems, however, www.hostnexus.com have a good reputation on this forum and provide Plesk! Best of luck to you.

They don't have servers at ThePlanet

I never said they did, I simply said they provided Plesk. Just trying to help.

Well, my apologies for misreading the thread. I quickly read it and thought that they had been searching high and low for a Plesk provider and were so frusturated that they were wondering if there was a provider on the planet (meaning Earth) not AT The Planet. Either way, I am not affiliated with HostNexus, so I'm not sure why it's a big deal that I was trying to help.

I found Turnkey hosting and they provide plesk reseller accounts on linux servers at the planet. Anyone know of another? I still can't find anyone who provides windows servers at the planet with plesk.

Mind if I ask why ThePlanet is a requirement? Just curious....

Posted by boardr00, 07-14-2004, 11:53 PM
Not necessaryily a requirement, as I am now considering your company. I had seen lots of cpanel there and was just wondering if anyone had plesk and was there.

Ah, okay - no problem.

I have puchased my reseller account for my linux server. It is not at the planet but is plesk 7 and suits my needs.

oh, come on! give us details!

I decided to go with diyhosting.net for my linux reseller account. They have great support, great uptime, have chili!soft asp on their linux servers and will include plesk 7 as my control panel. Also, right now as a special they are giving me 10gb space and 100gb transfer for $69.99/mo

very nice. good luck with your business.

Thank you. Too bad you don't have windows hosting Vagrant. Otherwise I would get an account with you. Thanks.

you bring up a good point. do you realize how many times i've had a potential client say that? "too bad you don't have windows..." because they require ASP.NET or whatever. i need to get off my tookus and just get a Windows server for the 1% of clients that want it. seriously. i mean... why not?

Posted by boardr00, 07-15-2004, 01:27 AM
Yeah I know what you mean. Although there is always Chili!soft Asp to run asp on linus. This is my solution for our company website. In fact, right now all clients we have will be going on to our linux server. The only reason I am looking for windows is so I can say that we offer both. This way if a customer does want Windows (for whatever reason) we will be ready.

It is Apache ASP on our servers, not Chili!soft. I am not sure why the site said Chili!soft (it's been corrected) but i'll look into it in the morning. I can only presume it was an error by one of the guy's updating the pages. I have sent you a notice via PM, to send me your Order ID, to be refunded, if applicable. Simon

Thanks for the update!

Posted by VagrantHost, 07-15-2004, 01:54 AM
ouch... Apache ASP is useless. i know.. we have it on our servers.

Posted by IHSL, 07-15-2004, 01:55 AM
I wouldn't say useless. It has several great uses, but it's not Chili!soft, by any stretch of the imagination. Simon

Posted by boardr00, 07-15-2004, 01:58 AM
Why don't you offer Chili!soft? Can I host asp programmed sites with your Apache ASP?

Posted by IHSL, 07-15-2004, 02:08 AM
We've never had much interest in Linux based ASP, as we offer it on the win2k platform (nothing beats ASP on windows). Regarding whether you can run ASP on Apache ASP - you can, but certainly not without bounds. VBscript is not available on Apache ASP, for example. (see apache-asp.org for it's list of functions) Simon

Well, here is my problem. I run my site using VBscript ASP. This means that I need a Windows server. I would really like to purchase this from you also, since this is where I will have my linux server. It makes things easier. However, you don't have any windows servers with plesk. May I make a suggestion? Since plesk 7 for windows will be out in full version within 2 weeks, I suggest that you offer this to clients and resellers. This makes plesk a very attractive control panel and will allow clients to have both linux and windows just like your h-sphere package. I know it would require you to have one more plesk server with windows os installed but it would really be beneficial. Not only to me, but many others. Resellers are constantly looking for hosts that offer them both windows and linux in one package. If you have this for both h-sphere and plesk you will become the one stop source for resllers! Let me know if there is anyway you can help me. Thanks.

Boardr00, Whilst i'd love to answer your questions, I don't feel it's the right place to do so - I don't want the mod's thinking i'm using this as our pre-sales forum. Please feel free to drop us an email, or a pre-sales forum question to discuss your request. Thanks, Simon
