How long to transfer clients' accounts?

Say, I have 5 accounts on one reseller (total about 500 MB) and I want to transfer them to another reseller (because I'm moving). How long does it all take in your experience?

If you can get your host to do it for you WHM to WHM it takes about 5 minutes then 24 hours for the propagation of name servers.

It depends on so many factors; Control panel and access level would be two of them. Without root access, there's going to be quite a bit of manual work to do, hence the time could be a lot different. Simon

The actual transfer is fast and you can probably do it under 1 hour but if things goes wrong, it can take a while to troubleshoot. Give yourself at least a week to be sure that everything goes fine and you get the time to test everything before killing the old server.

Edwin's advice is good. Even though in practice a cPanel > cPanel server transfer may take around 10 minutes by your new host then a couple of days for the dns changeover I also would recommend setting aside around 7 days for the move. This will allow you time to sort out anything which may go wrong (unlikely but you'll be thankful of the time in the small chance that it does happen).

It varies: I moved 104 sites in 2-3 hour, but last weekend it took us 2 days to move 140 sites. This includes setting the databases right, etc. I would set aside at least 7 days as mentioned before.
