Posted by monaghan, 02-15-2004, 02:12 AM
Anyone else using EUKHost ? How's your mail ? My reseller account's not had any mail since Friday evening, neither have any of it's accounts. Support are not answering their emails or trouble ticket system :-(

Have you tried calling them?

There is a big thread about them on www.webhosthcat.co.uk (Down for maintenance at the moment though), I think I recall reading they got hacked.

I would phone, but.... there's no published phone number, I'm positive there used to be on, but I never recorded it :-( Time to bite the bullet and get my own server perhaps !

Just because you are having a bad time with a reseller provider you don't need to get a dedicated server if you don't actually need one, there are plenty of reputable reseller providers out there.

I agree, unless you get to the point where you are spending the amount of money on a reseller account that you would be on a dedicated server then its best to go with a reputable reseller company. Dont forget also that managing a server is a lot more demanding then simply having a reseller account (as eukhost may have found out). Good luck anyway

I'm virtuallly at the break even stage for a dedicated. Server admin shouldn't be a problem as I've been running *nix boxes for the last 15-20 years. My 1st Linux based install was on a .9 series kernel :-)

I managed to catch them on MSN Messenger and had to insist there was actually a problem, but after 10 mins of back and forth, I did get an acknowledgment of the issue (although it was deemed to be a DDOS attack, yet I don't see how that could impact the ability of the SMTP server to accept mail on 1 account on the box and deliver it to another account on the server !) Oh, the joys of being on someone else's box :-)
