Adding SPF Record CentOS 5

| I ordered a new server few days ago and I managed to install everything I need, except I am unable to setup a SPF record.
Can someone give me step by step instructions on how I go about adding a spf record so emails from my server to major email hosts like hotmail, yahoo are not being marked as spam.

| I use to add this to my domain:
mydomain.com. IN TXT "v=spf1 a mx ~all"

| Just FYI, setting up an SPF record it's just a start for getting your email delivered to Hotmail. There are many other factors, some of them depend on your email volume, sending practices and email content.
