DoS Problems
Posted by Vampire, 01-20-2003, 06:56 PM |
I though I might aswell post here since there's very little else I can do.
One of the sites I host has been the victim of a SYN flood followed by a more complicated and sophisticated DoS attack, all measures to block/evade/dynamically avoid the attack have so far been unsuccessful. The host has closed down port 80 on the account to minimize the damage, before they did so the attack was (still) eating up the entire DS3 used not only by my clients colo but by several others aswell (needless to say my client's host in very unhappy)
Any ideas whatsoever are welcome, at the moment I'm resigned to waiting till the attacks stop

What type of web site was it?. Do you allow IRC?.
I dont know your current setup or network configurations but you can try to change ip's and have the one that is under attack null routed upstream and remove the user that was attacked.
DOS seems to follow people, its normally not directed at the WebHost but one of its clients.
Good Luck,
Rob

If you allow IRC then you might as well just do the following...
YourServer
