What else do we need?

We are opening a subsidiary for resellers only. We’ve got Intel P4s with 1GB ram, raid 1 drives, nightly back-up, Cpanel, Cydock and/or Perldesk, help forums and decent knowledge base. paypal and authorize.net payments, on-site and Alertra monitoring. And a decent support staff. What else de we need to get this puppy rolling? Thanks, Michael http://www.sitesouth.com http://www.ReSellersISP.com (coming soon)

Well, I hope that you get a good design, other than what I see at sitesouth.com and worldar.com. Now a days, appearance just doesn't include your uniform, but how well you show off your uniform-- web site, customer loyalty, etc.. If your design rocks, you've got a good chance of sky rocketing your sales, as long as you market it right. Speaking of marketing, you'll want to do that as well. Good luck. Best of wishes!

I would definately recommend as "TheTech" did.. Get a new design for your site.. Granted, site design doesn't mean everything, but just like good marketing, it won't hurt any. If someone is going to your site because they need webdesign, and your site looks like a "Frontpage Template", they probably will go somewhere else. Just a friendly note and best of luck.

Yes, we have designer doing this site for us. Most of the design work we do at SiteSouth is really system programming and database design. For our own sites our normal policy has been to focus on easy navigation and not worry about the art work. This one will be different. It's real funny, if you look at WorldAR.com it's pretty ugly, but it is the #1 website in the world for adventure racing. Go figure.

Hi Michael, While a knowledge base is a good start, I'd also recommend offering a dedicated section for customers/resellers with short, easy-to-follow tips and articles for getting started, building an online/reseller business, marketing tools and links to other useful resources. The more helpful, business-building information you can provide your customers, the better you'll prove you're serious about being their partner in business success (a good way to differentiate yourself, too). If you like, you can make the resource section available to customers/resellers only, but -- if you do -- be sure to highlight the fact that it exists, and what it has to offer, on your main pages as well. While it's understandable you might want to protect your content, such resources are too valuable a marketing tool to keep a secret until your resellers sign up. Hope that helps!
