ServInt Power Transfer Failure causes some reboots

Posted by mrcjdawson, 06-29-2005, 01:01 AM
During a routine power maintenance, a power transfer failure between power stages in one part of the ServInt datacenter caused many servers to reboot this evening. Everything is either in the process of rebooting or has come back up. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused. -Christian Dawson

Of course their forums are down, they aparently don't want to take them off of their network (???!!!). Oh well, I just got everything transfered off of it, except the customer switched nameservers on me to ones that were still pointing there, so now their site is down *again*. Oh well, at least this time it's only half my fault

My VPS is still down. It's been down for about an hour. There was no notice of anything wrong on Servint's own forums (before they went down too), nor is there any indication on Servint's network status page, which is still up. At least there is some info via WebHostingTalk. I anxiously await the return of my server.

I could tell you, but I already moved the server name to another provider, so I wasn't tracking it any more, though from the time of Christian's post, it would appear that may be the case... I know ours is still down (SVC125 I believe...) Traceroute ends at 62.153.203.126 with ~50% packet loss. Not sure if that IP is their network, but that's not a good sign...

The server their forums the are on never went down. Looks like they need to upgrade to a "Signature" VPS.
