I have a Database Server for my apps. Few days i am facing downtime and server crash. I need 100% uptime. I have budget of 200$ per month for 2 server. So any way how i can get 100% uptime with 2 Servers? Any provider that can provide me solution? Currently using worldstream that config: Intel Xeon E3-1240v5 3.50GHz Memory: 16GB ECC DDR4 RAM Drive 1 :120GB SSD Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Need higher config servers

Dear, I am sorry to hear you are facing downtime. Have you already contacted our support? If it is an hardware error, we can always replace your server.

Actually I am not sure. Maybe hardware issue but i cant let you check utill i move server. But last few days worldstream service is not satisfactory. Like my servers were getting ddos attacks but default 5gbps ddos protection didn`t helped me.rather they asked for extra money which was double of my server bill. though all ddos was less then 1gbps.

What was the reason for the downtime? From your opening post, it seems like you were pinning the issue to the hardware (as you mentioned you need better hardware) but in this post you mentioned you were getting DDoS Attacks. In any case, if you are looking for similar/better config with DDoS Protection included, I think you will need to increase your budget.

The reply was about overall worlstream service. The database server issue maybe hardware or something. I am not sure till now. Need have a checkup by provider. During huge load the server goes down for 30sec - 2 min and then again come online but system shows the server was up. Basic ddos protection is ok for me. As I am using OVH servers and they are performing well. I think the ddos was to worlstream not my service. Because my ovh servers didn`t faced not a single attack.

Dear, Every DDoS attack is different. Custom filter options needs an upgrade of your anti DDoS package. Our network team then will analyze the attacks and put the correct filters in the protection. We can also turn off the protection if you think the attack is small enough for your server to handle. The high server load can be caused by alot of things. We can setup a new server to be sure it is an hardware problem or not. Please contact our support department to request this solution.

If you want 100% uptime with only 2 servers, you are going to want to put them in two different datacenters. For the hardware specs you mention, $100/mo each is an incredible deal from any reputable provider. How much bandwidth do you need on each server? There are things you can do to help fight DDOS attacks yourself, like DDOS Deflate, CSF, APF, etc. But larger attacks will need to be mitigated at the core level and sometimes that takes extra cost to do so. Hardware does fail and most providers tried to use the best available hardware on newer products to prevent that, but even then there are issues. If your servers are configured correctly in a cluster with some 3rd party solution for load balancing, then one server should be able to fail 100% and your website still stay up. Either that or you need a provider that can provide Anycast IPs.
