Hotmail not receiving my mails

Posted by kushnush, 09-04-2007, 05:41 PM
i have read and tried many ways suggested on previous thread of the forum but still does not have any solution .. i recently changed host and after i changed host, i am unable to send emails to hotmail from my mail server. Gmail and yahoo are fine. The error message from Hotmail : SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM: SIZE=3494: host mx3.hotmail.com [65.54.244.200]: 550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an e-mail/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. For e-mail delivery information, please go to http://postmaster.live.com I also ran a dnsreport and heres the result http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/dnsrep...3228711c472019 I have contacted microsoft but really not sure when they will give me a reply .. meanwhile, if there is any solution to my problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Looking at your DNS Report, I'm not seeing anything there that would cause your email to be rejected. I checked a MultiRBL, and your IP address (or netblock?) is blacklisted with dynablock.njabl.org... but I highly doubt that would be the problem. Microsoft will reply to you, usually within 48 hours... so hopefully they'll be able to shed some light on this for you. Edit: The dynablock project is now part of Spamhaus PBL and your IP address (netblock) is also listed there. Take a look at the following link: http://www.spamhaus.org/pbl/query/PBL029186 Last edited by Patrick; 09-04-2007 at 05:56 PM.

You are blacklisted with the Spamhaus PBL... how much of an effect that has on Microsoft blacklisting you at Hotmail is unknown. When you or your clients send an email, they always have to authenticate first, correct?

its account activation mail for registration .. so im not sending through outlook or any pop3 client software.

Warning: If you have not fixed your open relay or proxy, it will be re-added to the list when it is retested a short time after it's removed. After an IP has been removed 3 times, there is a penalty delay of 1 hour before it can be removed again. This penalty then quadruples for each successive removal. i saw this .. previously on the dnsreport i have a fail on the open relay .. could that be the problem ? but i have also requested for it to be fixed and its fixed already if that is the problem ..

Yeah, an open relay would definitely get you blacklisted from Hotmail. Since you no longer have an open relay, hopefully Microsoft will remove the blacklist as soon as possible.

The reason and the fix were clearly appeared !
