Looking for cheap server (2GB ram, 80GB+ storage)

I am looking for cheapest possible server. Need 2GB ram and atleast 80gb storage. I need for running a bitcoin node. Kimsufi has for 5€/month KS-1, but they are not on stock. Is there any good alternative? I'm looking to pay around 5€/month, but definitelly under 10$!

Maybe Online.net's Scaleway is suitable for you? https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-cloud

I think you should take a look at online.net as they are providing a flexible offer to their customer since here you will get your server at €5.99 /month also you will get 4GB memory and 100 GB SSD. Hope this will help you.

If CPU resource usage is not so high then you can buy normal VPS instead of wasting money on cloud. I hope you are not talking about Bitcoin mining on VPS

It seems that you are looking for the solution which is called low end server. If you are familiar with lowendtalk you can check that. There is a rule for the companies there offers should be below $7. Most of the providers design plans especially for LET. Most likely there you will find your server.

What are you planning to host? Personal sites?

As i said i'm looking to run bitcoin node. I won't mine. Online.net has very good offer. 6,7$/month and on top of that it's an SSD. Servermania ad has also good discount which comes to 4$/month for 2GB ram and 100GB storage, problem is they only take payment annually. I checked lowend talk but i don't think i'll get anything cheaper (under 7$).

This sounds like a happy ending. Just my two cents but running a full node needs decent hardware, often the cheapest hosts pack in accounts which means that you won't get great performance. I also hope that you know how to secure this server (and your wallet if you're going to do that). Also be ready to be a target for DDoS attacks.

Yes i need this for several of my projects and as it seems i'll have to look into it much deeper. However i don't understand the DDoS part? Why would i be a wanted target by running bitcoin node ?

I'm not an expert on the matter. One of the common reasons, I think, is for the attackers to demand bitcoin in exchange for stopping the attacks. Also possibly that increasing block size will decrease miners profit. Last edited by DraculaServers; 09-28-2016 at 07:40 AM.

Bitcoin is one of those services that attracts certain attention. You often have no idea why someone is attacking you but often it's just to gain some type of advantage (over you or someone else). Don't get me wrong if you want to do this then a full node (in the last few years) is the way to go vs lightweight node. But you just have to make sure you know exactly what you are doing or things can go south. Here are some links you might find useful: https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node#minimum-requirements https://bitcore.io/ https://gist.github.com/romanz/17ff716f13a34df49ff4 (running a full node on amazon free tier)
