VPS Reselling

Posted by AccoraHF, 02-14-2016, 10:29 PM
Are there plans out there that allow reselling of VPS servers like a reseller plan for shared hosting? I haven't seen anything, but I am curious.

There are many options available but you will normally get the best bank for your buck if you rent or own dedicated servers that you create virtual servers on. Just look for providers that offer virtualization software when ordering dedicated servers (KVM, VMWare ESXi with the ability to add vCenter, Parallels, Xen, etc.) or if you go with a large provider they may have a control panel that you can use for whitelabel selling virtual private servers to your clients that you can integrate into your billing system.

You can also ask some deals from the providers regarding reselling as I am sure they will give better discounts . Dedi is another option though.

Hey Do you use any billing software like whmcs? Do you have a preference to which country your VPSs are to be hosted in?

I use ClientExec, and I don't really have a preference, but Canada is where my data center is for my hosting. I'd use my dedicated that I'm using for hosting for VPS as well, but I am not willing to give up the space is all.

Are you looking for a VPS reseller program that works like generic reseller hosting (you pay a monthly fee and sell virtual servers) or are you looking for something like an affiliate program, where you sell virtual servers without having to purchase them beforehand?

More like a generic reseller program if anything.

I would recommend you to research the market first and try to understand what exactly be good and what is demand for. Reseller account in general (by definition) means that you buy some big account and then resell that. So you need to be able to sell a few server quickly in order not to be under red line by the end of the month.

You can reach out to a VPS provider and ask if they'd be willing to do a reseller package for you. Most VPS control panels have a reseller area so maybe they can. Be prepared to go to them and ask for a bundle of resources and be able to pay for it. Such as 10 CPU cores, 10 GB RAM 100GB HDD 10 VMs and 10 IPs. So you'd basically pay for that package up front and be able to partition as many VPSs as you specify within these resources. In this case 10 VMs in total.

Yes, there are providers who offer VPS reselling. SolusVM has the ability to create resellers. Being a reseller, you will be assigned a certain amount of resources so that you can create the VPS you want depending on your requirement.

You can find many VPS reseller program but main problem will be manual setup because of no one will allow you to give API access. I mean setup will be automatically for you but not for your customers. I hope you understand me what I want to say. Purchase VPS from provider and send login details to your customer. (Manual work)

Look for providers thats are 100% white labeled that way you can resell their VPS plans as your own and just mark up the price. No hardware to buy/rent and nothing to manage. You give the white labeled solusvm login to your customer.

You shouldn't resell VM's/VPS, thats a bad deal. You can earn much more by renting or colo a dedicated server or several servers. That way you wont have to split the income with the company you bought an reseller account from! However you would need a site, cp and management. But all though its a better way than reselling.

Yes, but you could say the same for normal shared hosting. VPS Reseller would be great for those with no knowledge of managing a server.
