ReliableSite down?

Posted by bcave, 08-16-2011, 12:31 AM
Anyone else on this board use ReliableSite? It appears they have been down 4 hours, according to my Pingdom reports. No access to my production web services (for my paying customers, either), and there is no telephone support. Their main website is down, too, which is where you submit support tickets. Go figure. It is at Reliablesite dot net. Anyone else having trouble with them at the moment? Thanks in advance for any input.

May I say that it's a funny situation considering their name? do they have a Twitter account you could follow? Do they have a contact email with their domain register you could use to contact them? Any phone number?

Yeah, I realize the irony. Kind of painful. No phone support. Can't even get to the support website! They do have a Facebook page and I have posted there. I have also emailed their support team. No responses, yet. I was just hoping that I could get confirmation from someone else that they could not access the system.

Any luck with the phone number listed in whois? http://whois.domaintools.com/reliablesite.net

This is a joke, right? Where are the cameras? Am I on a funny TV show? The 1-800 number listed in Whois plays an ad that says "Let's have a good time... call 1-800-###-####". Dropping this crap like a hot potato as soon as I can get access to my data. Unfortunately, there is no offsite backup and was not an option to do it :/

Regardless of what the host offers, you could always use a backup service like www.bqbackup.com and perform your own off-site backups.

They don't appear to be able to back up my db data, which is what I am worried about. The rest is backed up before deployment.

Well they are back up, and it appears that it was scheduled maintenance. I was told we had been emailed about it, but no one ever received an e-mail.

We backup everything (including your databases) on a daily basis, and this was a scheduled maintenance. We did send out notifications and have discussions with numerous customers -- so they were definitely received. I would like to work with you to make sure you receive our scheduled maintenance notifications in the future. http://support.reliablesite.net/News...migration.aspx We do offer a phone number, please contact support for additional information about phone support.
