Have you looked at EZPZhosting.co.uk they offer free WHMCS licenses and offer Master reseller packages.

Most could likely support it but make sure the WHMCS you get is legit and your paying a price which allows you to use everything your buying getting 100GB space for $3 isn't going to allow this.

Make sure you use a master reseller provider who doesn't use Zamfoo as it's exploitable. I've not used a master reseller provider but you could get a VPS with a billing system.

I belive EZPZPHosting provides master reseller hosting.

Master reseller is the ponzi scheme of the hosting world. Don't do it. As noted, Zamfoo is totally hacked, so avoid it.

It's no different to someone renting a dedicated server from a DC then reselling it to someone else, That someelse then breaks it down to VPSes, Someone buys a VPS then breaks them down to reseller accounts someone then purchases that reseller account and provides shared hosting. Here's the chain: 1) DC Server Provider 2) Server Reseller Provider 3) Server Renter/VPS Provider 4) VPS Owner & Reseller Provider 5) Reseller User & Shared Provider That is a common thing which happens around here and anywhere else but this is not referred too as a ponzi scheme?

Posted by kpmedia, 08-27-2013, 08:42 PM
Yeah, that's terrible too.

Posted by GreenValueHostGM, 08-27-2013, 08:52 PM
If it was that terrible, there wouldn't be reliable hosting providers running that setup now would there?

I'll go to more extremes while talking of "ponzi scheme" 1) "Ace Of Space" DC Flogs Cage 2) Mr Quality Street Rents Cage & Sells Rack Space 3) Mrs Downham Rents Rack & Sells Dedicated Servers 4) Mr Sharpy Rents Servers From Mrs Downham To Resell For Profit 5) JoeBloggs Buys (Resold) Server From Mr Sharpy And Creates A VPS "Company" 6) Maria Jens Buys VPS To Start cPanel Reseller "Company" 7) Ken Brock Buys Reseller Account To Sell Shared Hosting To Businesses In the end we're simply left with "he rents from she, etc" So how is the above example any different from having a master reseller account on a server rented direct from the likes of Hetzner or OVH?

Posted by GreenValueHostGM, 08-27-2013, 09:20 PM
It's not much different and I agree with you.

Although yes I will freely admit that the whole super alpha dupa reseller plans are pretty stupid in terms of shared reselling the whole master reseller level is as far it's go's for me in terms of quality, Am not a fan of Alpha nor Super Alpha but attempt to refer to a piece of the market as a ponzi scheme is quite absurd. Oh yeah in the example I forgot to add "Mr Silver he's the rep from the leasing company Mrs Downham get's her equipment from"

Why don't you try moving away from all of that and getting a low end VPS. This will give you root access to your server, allow you to setup resellers in a native cPanel/WHM interface, and make things a little easier for you in terms of growth. And yes I agree with cd/home. It is absurd to call it a ponzi scheme. I have never agreed with or supported master resellers and etc, but would have to completely disagree with anyone calling those ponzi schemes.

Unless you choose your provider carefully you could end up in a no stop chain of providers, leasing companies and alsorts which if only one of them dropped the ball maybe 2 or 3 steps up from the bottom everything under it will collapse to nothing over night some of these so called VPS providers have huge chains look at those who get servers from OVH resellers, etc is this all or most of the hosting industry based on "ponzi scheme"?

Interesting & true indeed Anyways, to be honest, there are not many good master reseller providers around here. A good idea would be to rent a VPS from a reputable provider, then run WHM on it along with Zamfoo Master Reseller plugin. That'll give you a perfect master reseller. Usually the master resellers being sold into market are provisioned on over sold servers & there is usually little or no support available.

Very true infact am willing to bet the reason why some providers fail around here is due to someone dropping the ball in part of the crazy structure I can reel off one example this week but I'll not since its unneeded and already of hurt and drama was caused by it. So in the scheme of things a master reseller being structure based is nothing new a good portion of the industry is based upon structure "we lease from them, they rent from us" type arrangements.

Plz check the godaddy reseller program. It is best out there.

I strongly disagree with your opinion, but I respect your right to say it.

xperter Unless you can search and find multiple positive reviews about a host offering master reseller steer clear of them. It's a service that is difficult to control the quality of. Hosts will say otherwise and claim all sorts but it does not change the fact that 1 master resell can cause havoc on a server without it being classed as abuse, put 20, 30 or 50 on there and you are in real trouble. There is a reason why you only find the lesser well known or more budget end providers offering master reseller. You won't find a quality higher end host offering it around here, ask yourself why. It's a been a while since I have seen a host operate master reseller with a better than average success rate. Aside from that the available panels are limited, Zamfoo is just junk and fewer are using it, there is now WHMPHP which is certainly much better so look for hosts using it. That said you have to consider that there is a heavy reliance on a 3rd party plugin to control a significant part of your hosting account, and if it fails, like has happened in the past it can lead to unrecoverable accounts, data, etc.. For what you are asking for I would echo what has already been said, a VPS with cPanel will cost a bit more but removes all the risks associated with a master reseller plan. Otherwise, pay your money and take your chances. Again, ask yourself why none of the common advertisers go near master reseller plans.
