Hi this is my 1er post My services are in HG, all of you knows that HG moved their services from Softlayer to Provo. In the last weeks I lost several clients because the outage, and several IP/EMAIL problems. My question is: Some of you knows any hosting companies using Softlayer? With my question, I am looking for stability and minimum down. Obviously, I am looking for fast support and really great support. IE: Sometimes I had 500 internal error, and HG help me to fix it, and find the root of the problems... Other example is: Sometimes there are websites infected with malicious codes, and HG help me to clean it. There are some company out there with that support? and using Softlayer? Thanks in advance!

Softlayer is a great DC and have one of the nicest backends I've ever seen. But I don't know if moving from one DC to another may be the problem here, it really comes down to management. They could be going through a lot of problems due to their migration and move.

We also have a presence at Tierpoint in Dallas. I don't think whether a provider is at Softlayer should really play much part in a decision though. I believe a lot of the old HostGator servers were in the old ThePlanet facilities? So anyone using Softlayer probably isn't using the same facilities to begin with. I wouldn't make SoftLayer a requirement but instead just a quality provider who picks their facilities well.

Some of the servers at HostNine are hosted at Softlayer, however, recently they are having some downtime issues as reported by some of their customers.

It seems you need more than Softlayer because even if the provider is using this Data Center, if the support is bad, then it is useless. Maybe you are looking for a certain network?

Every now and then we get requests for a shared accounts at a softlayer data center. Although this can be done, we found no difference in the qualities of bandwidth or hardware from the several different data centers we have presence in.
