Servint dedicated win 2003 box

Hi, I was wondering if anyone might have some advice for me. Here's my situation: I've generally been very pleased with Servint over the past 2 years I've been using them for their Linux VPS offerings I have a new and different need which has arisen that will require windows 2003, and Servint's lowest end windows 2003 option is a dedicated server for $199/mo, so that's fine for me. I intend to lease this server in addition to my existing VPS box. My question is this: Servint is pretty well known for being a managed host, and again I've been very happy with their service, but they tell me that for their Windows options, they are not fully managed. They are only fully managed for Linux. Should I seek another host? I'm not inclined to because I've grown so comfortable with Servint and I'm generally a loyal customer, but if you think there is a definite need for a fully managed host, and there is an option out there through another hosting company that is within the same relative price range, please tell me. Also, has anyone had any experience running a windows box with Servint? Thanks!!

Hey! I have a ded linux box with ServINT. Their service is exceptional, and you will always get those amazingly fast responses (as you know). What I would do if I were you is ask questions. Find out exactly what they will do for you and what they will not do for you. Once you have this information you can make a proper decision. It may be that you are capable of looking after the bits of management that ServINT do not cover. Or on the other hand it may be that you reeeeally can't do without complete management because your knowledge doesn't extend far enough. I know that my knowledge of Windows Servers is poor, and I probably wouldn't go with ServINT even though their customer service is outstanding; if you're anything like me I hate being stuck in a rut and spending more time on maintaining my server than necessary. Wow... that is exactly my situation - although I have a full dedicated server with ServInt. Very happy now, but really sad when they broke the news that they do not manage Windows well. I'm also seeking possible server managers that can help me out since I know Linux now... and need to transition to MS.
