Whats your prefered website builder?

Posted by JixHost, 10-15-2011, 06:37 PM
In an effort to provide what most want, I would like to ask you which website builder is most desired for your needs. I don't see so many using our rv site builder pro so I think maybe it's not that great...I may be wrong but thought I would ask who would have the correct answer to that, which is you. Thank you.

I dont see many using site builders these days full stop to be honest these days, I mean with the tons of free templates out their and the thousands of html editing tutorials around even on youtube its become much easyer to build your own site without a site builder

I've noticed that sitebuilders are almost always included in hosting packages mentioned as cool feature, but as for me it is useless.

Site builder is actually dying... a lot of people knows how to design already or simply just install CMS with free template.

I have to agree, the popularity of wordpress/joomla and other content management systems are definitely starting to make site builders obsolete. However with that being said, their is still pretty decent size of the population who chooses to use traditional site builders. With that being said, RVsiteBuilder Pro seems to be the most popular and in my opinion a fairly decent site builder (possibly the best or at the worst, good enough).

I agree that nowadays many people are no longer use Online Site Builder, but instead they're using Wordpress/Joomla/Drupal or any other simple CMS to build their website (as it becomes easier now) - they can also get tons of free web templates from the Internet for those free CMS/Blog software.

Use good installers -- Fantastico is awful, while Softaculous is pretty good. The biggest issue to me is the unsafe defaults used by some installers, which allow for easy hacking. WordPress with wp_ table prefixes, for example -- terrible. I agree CMS are killing off sitebuilders.

I think once you get a feel for design, site builders just cant help as much. For me to go back to using a sitebuilder when I just need a quick page up, it'd have to be something in line with an online version of dreamweaver.

My vote goes to Softaculous, a great Auto Installer having 230 great scripts. You can find lots of free web templates.

That's true Well, it's better for us (who understand well how) to install the CMS/blog software by ourselves. It's been 4-5 years, I've been using DRUPAL (which I installed and setup manually) as the CMS engine for my clients websites. And no 'hacking' issue so far

Definitely true. WP being a prime example, with a few clicks of the mouse, you can have a fully functional CMS that looks amazing.
