Hi, The unauthorized action is already stopped. It is also prompting to have the message "Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client."

Relaying is already blocked which is why the email was rejected as stated in the logs Your client will have to enable SMTP authentication in the mail client to send the email successfully. The option to enable SMTP authentication must be in the properties section of the email account configured.

It indicates that you are trying to relay email without authentication. You will have to turn on SMTP authentication in your email client configuration.

Which email client is being used by your client?

Posted by aniga17, 11-25-2014, 02:45 AM
email client is Webmail

Webmail is not an email client. Example of email client is Outlook, thunderbird, Mac mail etc. If you are seeing authentication related error while sending email from webmail, there is should be something wrong in the email configuration.

Okay but what i need is how to automatically block an authentication action occurring in my server Thanks

Authentication is required for sending emails which is opposite to replaying and is blocked (i.e. not allowed) on your server and it is how it should be. Webmail don't have the option to enable authentication as it is installed on the server itself. SMTP Authentication is required when people use email clients like Outlook, Thunderbird, Windows Mail etc because they are trying to access the emails from outside of the server.

aniga17 - Your SMTP server is doing the right thing and blocking those unauthorized actions already. You want to be careful about blocking the IPs of people performing "unauthorized" actions, since that would also block authorized actions. For example, lets say your client forgot to enable "SMTP Authentication". He would get the error you saw and your SMTP configuration stopped him. If you further added him to some sort of blacklist, he would never be able to log in again, even after he fixed the setting. If you want that kind of blocking anyway, check out Fail2Ban Fail2ban is an excellent program, but requires understanding how to configure, block and unblock IP addresses
