Is there impact in sales using EV SSL certificate in your hosting company compare to other type of SSL certificates?

I don't really think you can quantify the extra sales that the EV SSL cert. provides you, since there are way more factors to consider alongside that (eg: your reputation, reviews, if your costs/packages are competitive, advertising, etc). However I do believe it adds a plus to your website/business.

I agree with the previous reply. There's simply no way to know if you're getting more signups because of EV SSL, or if it's because of one or more other factors. My opinion, as a consumer, is that I have never once checked if a company's SSL cert is "legitimate" or really care if they have the green or not. I only care that I see a lock icon (SSL) for sensitive data. If they don't have a lock for sensitive data, then I won't use their site. I don't care what kind of lock (SSL) it is.

There is almost no impact on sales if you have an EV cert or not. (At least in our experience). We have one right now and are not planning on renewing.

I've thought about getting an EV quite a lot in the past, and came to the conclusion it wasn't worth it. Look at [most] of the popular/large hosting providers out there - most of them just have regular SSL certificates. I can think of a few providers who use EV's - but I don't think you'll loose out on a sale by not having one.

As mentioned above I don't think you can really quantify any benefit that an EV SSL certificate could provide. As a consumer, though, I can certainly appreciate it when I'm purchasing from a provider or merchant that has one and I will always make note of the legitimacy of their certificate. Just the other day I went to pay one of our normal bills and found there to be no indication of SSL at all. They had changed their 3rd party payment page to a branded domain and had simply included the 3rd party payment page via an iframe. Not good. Perhaps just once it may be that little something extra that made a consumer feel safe about purchasing but it is just too hard to differentiate from all of the other more important factors. Regardless its not really that expensive for an established provider and at least there is some sort of verification into the legitimacy of the business. It is just far too easy for someone to sell hosting without any sort of legitimate business.
