Hi, If you have trust on them and they required root access, then you will have to give them. Make sure you change the details after the work is complete. Depends on what sort of troubleshooting you want them to do for you.

It really depends on what you are hiring the other company to do. If you trust them enough to give them "root equivalent" access... then what is the functional difference if you simply give them root password? If you are worried about tracking what commands they execute, then you should understand anyone with root equivalent can simply erase their tracks. If you trust them, but want to know what they did then you could give them a user with sudo privileges.

Hello, Creating new user with root privilege will be same as root user, so you should choose trustable individual/company to work on your issue. Otherwise, login to the server from your local computer and share the desktop to the person working on the issue, so that you can monitor the working.

Do you trust them with root privilege? If so, then give them root password (and change it when they are done), or give them sudo privileges. If you don't trust them, then don't hire them. It's really that simple.
