midpulse.com - Down since yesterday

Posted by hosteus, 02-08-2010, 03:52 PM
Hello, anyone here has any information on what's happening with midpulse ? I have some websites hosted at them but since yesterday everything is down even their website.

I haven't the slightest but it's not loading for me either. I'll see what I can find out for you. http://intodns.com/midpulse.com Their nameservers aren't responding - I can't seem to find a Twitter account for them where they would perhaps have announcements.

Hi. I've contacted them via the info on their "WhoIs" info sheet. Earlier today I'd sent an email (to the non-website address as their website is down also) and I have called (left a message on the answering machine/voice mail). No response as of yet. I do certainly hope this is just a glitch - having our websites down and our email servers not functioning totally sucks. I do wish he/they would respond to thier Yahoo emails though... for me personally I've gone through several hosts that have "run out" on their clients - I so hope this is not the case with MidPulse as they've been good until now. Good luck MidPulse - hope you get back up soon! And let your customers know what's going on... please?

I sincerely apologize for all of the misfortune this downtime has caused. Unfortunately, we are a reseller and the issue is in the hands of Resellerzoom. After years of service with them, their quality of hosting has reached such a low point, that we are forced to start looking elsewhere. I could go on and on about their issues lately, but I'd rather focus on the matter at hand. We took the chance of having our main "midpulse.com" site hosted on the same resellerzoom server as our clients. Until now, we haven't had any major issues with that choice. This bit us in the butt. At first, the downtime started with almost a dozen resource abusers. Their accounts were suspended. Then it became a licensing issue. Then it became an ip routing problem in the failover system. Then we were notified that the server was having kernel problems. Our last update was that the kernel problems have been resolved, but that port 25 was being flooded. It's incredibly frustrating even reading that last paragraph again. We've put in a lot of hard work building up our reputation, but I'm sure we're going to lose a few customers from this whole ordeal, unfortunately. As hard as it is on us, I can't imagine the troubles this must be causing you. Once the sites are back up, please submit a ticket to our Customer Service Department, and we will credit you for the month of February. Again, I personally apologize. If you would like me to keep you updated, please PM me on these forums.

Well firedup - you're walking in the right direction by being honest and straightforward and not trying to hide/cover-up/spin the situation. Any clients that you want to keep around will understand and appreciate your honesty. If there is anything I can do to help with this situation let me know as I really hate to see another provider in such a bad spot. I've got no problem donating my time (for free) to help you out.

Thank you... I sent you a PM. Good luck on getting back online soon!

I can't send you a PM for some reason, but can you keep me and the others on this thread posted as well? This right now is the top listing on google for "Midpulse down", and I'm sure others are looking for whats going on. I do appreciate your coming on here and informing us on what has happened but unfortunately not everyone knows how to look for this information. Hopefully once things come back online you can set up a twitter feed or some other "off-site" way of communicating with your customers when their email is down.

It looks like the server was up briefly a few minutes ago. The midpulse.com site was up for a bit, as was one of my two sites hosted by them. One was up long enough for me to catch a backup. Looks like they are back down now, hopefully they are making good progress. Any official updates?

I sent a PM last night, but unfortunately have not heard anything back yet. However, from "mrstevie" 's recent post here, I do have hope! (Although even a sentence or two from the host would be a nice thing to see right about now too... just for a little bit of reassurance. ) Thanks, MikeDVB... what a generous gesture. I hope "firedup" will take advantage of your kind offer... maybe we could get back online a little faster with your help. Kudos to MidPulse though for showing the effort that he IS trying to make things right!

Thank you for the offer Mike. There are still some DNS issues being sorted out. Fortunately, sites are coming online for a few minutes here and there. Unfortunately, they weren't up long enough to respond to the customer service tickets. We will be hosting the actual site on a separate server from now on. That way, if there's ever any future downtime, midpulse.com will still be accessible.

Excellent! Great to hear that progress is being made. And THANK YOU very much for the update - it is truly appreciated!

Firedup, Thank you for the update. I'll keep checking here through out the day.

Your sites should be up and running.

My main sites seem to be okay now, but my subdomains seem to be missing data (i.e., one of my WordPress sites comments and bloggers aren't showing up). I'll wait another day for the problem to resolve (hopefully it's just a matter of "catch-up"), if not, I'll submit a support ticket. Thanks!

They're BAAA-AAACK! Looks like everything is okay now and subdomains and WordPress data are all good. Thank you, "firedup", for your diligence in getting everything back to normal.

I only wish a few other customers were as relieved as you You're welcome.

Well, looks like we're back down now. Firedup, any update?

Posted by lavaweb, 02-11-2010, 10:25 AM
Ok this is weird, sites are intermittent, but email seems to be down

Posted by MPDon, 02-11-2010, 06:39 PM
The kernel problem is fine now. We haven't gotten any reports about email problems. If you still are getting email problems, submit a ticket with our Technical Support Department.
