EZPZ - Two Thumbs Down...So far

I decided to try reselling again and decided to go with EZPZ since I heard a lot of great things about them. Now, I just signed up with them 3 or 4 days ago and have yet to get my website setup. After two days of trying to convince support there was actually something wrong and that it never takes more than 4 - 6 hours for my nameservers to propagate a tech finally discovered I had the UK DNS instead of US. I updated them with GoDaddy and the necessary changes were made in WHM. This was after a couple of techs supposedly verified that everything was correct. So I log into cPanel for the first time today and click on the icon to setup a DB. I get this: http://screensnapr.com/v/5lQUxU.png I would really like to get my site setup but it doesn't seem that support wants to take the time to work through my issues. I am very frustrated with them right now. The thing I really liked about EZPZ was it offered everything I was looking for at a reasonable price, including end user support. If the support I have received so far is any indication I should probably find another host to go with, though I would prefer not to.

It seems that the DNS propagation has not been completed yet on your location, have you tried flushing your DNSs? cleaning your browser's cache? rebooting your router? You should have in mind that a DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours (and it doesn't matter if you are just correcting a single record...), is this your domain name? http://intodns.com/hostorchard.com If so, I see several errors with some tests :/ In order to use cPanel, don't use your domain name, use the shared IP instead, or the hostname, so you can install your site while the DNS propagation is completed... I truly understand your frustration, and I'm sorry to hear your situation, I hope this is fixed as quick as possible. Regards.

Chris, You are right, I should probably just give it a bit more time. Just overly frustrated at this point. Andy

It's been a nightmare week for EZPZ.....and not of their own doing! Two days of huge DDoS attacks in the UK (I was on one of the affected boxes)....and then another in the US. They've gone through hell because of these CRIMINAL actions....and I doubt Dan has actually slept. So if there have been delays in other areas it's because they were dealing with those critical issues. I was disrupted because of it and it did make things very difficult. But they battled through the onslaught and came through it. I won't be going anywhere.....they've proved themselves without a doubt.

I have seen they have got a new staff name 'Justin'. I have no idea if he is outsourced or real staff as he have been replying to all my tickets 24/7 lately. Dan usually answers high end tickets for now. No one can escape from DDOS attack. Almost every host have gone through it and the only thing you could do it is prevent it from happening again. There are always Ups and Downs in this business. If a company is good, doesn't mean it will be good all the way. There will be a time when they will be down. But despite all these attacks, I realized that Dan is strong in handling the situation. I bet he didn't sleep either. Good luck on that and I believe that leaving EZPZHosting for such reason is not a good choice. I'm lucky enough to not be affected even though I am located in 4 different servers.

Dan, as far as I know, has all in-house staff because I've discussed staffing and staffing difficulties with him in the past as well as payroll. It's a huge burden (staffing) but at the end of the day if you can afford it - it's DEFINITELY worth it. The attacks and issues EZPZ has been facing are unfortunate and one thing that many tend to overlook is that it's not the PROVIDER that is being attacked, but merely one customer on one of their servers, or if unlucky by coincidence - a couple of customers on a couple of servers. Once you get so large, and you host so many sites, you will see a DoS/DDoS periodically. It's an unfortunate part of this hostile environment we call "The Internet".

I agree to your first line. I indeed talk to him before regarding getting outsource as I realized most tickets are answered by him, Jamie or Jim. He said he will think about it. But recently Justin came to the team and he is really fast. Answering tickets with 5 minutes or less. I'm pretty sure Dan have no worries towards his income looking just by looking at the amount of user in WHT using EZPZ.

It wasn't about the cost of staffing, but the legality of payroll, taxes, and all of the accounting that goes along with staffing. The work that the staff cover their cost, otherwise - you're not hiring the right people or you're paying way too much

I see, detailed explanation Could see that his staff are able to handle all the issues. I have never received canned replies like 'We will look into this issue, kindly hold on'.

Agreed. It will be best for you to access your cPanel or WHM with the server IP or hostname for now until everything is fully propagated. It should save you a lot of hassles and issues.
