Blocking port 25 logins on exim? (cPanel)

I vaguely remember Exchange having the option to block logins, yet allow inbound email, but it's been 5+ years since I last used Exchange. Not idea if exim can do this, hence the post. Firewalling port 25 is, of course, not an option. The MTA would still need to listen on port 25 But is there a way to block the port 25 logins from people or bots? With all the crap traffic lately against smtp -- almost 100% of it from the Middle East -- it would be good to simply shut off that entry point.

In cPanel, if you go to the 'Exim Configuration Manager', there should be a setting in the security tab. I think it reads some like the following. That might be what you want. As I don't think Exim will respond on 25 with SSL or STARTTLS, it will force authentication over ports 465 and 587.

Hmmm... good workaround idea. I shall test!

Let me know if it works.
