Need some advice for a newcommer to hosting!

Hi everybody, I'm not exactly new to this whole hosting dealio. I've run websites in the past, some successful, some not. I've just recently been getting into cPanel's WHM and think how it works is just awesome! So, I want to dip my head into the hosting business. My buddy and I have decided that we should do this just for fun. However, there's a lot of reseller hosts out there and we've kind of chosen one but are wondering if there is anything that tops it. Here's what we are looking for: - Reliable host with good uptime is a must. - 24/7 Support with good records. - At least 70GB of HDD. - At least 750GB of bandwidth. - Overselling - Budget: We're somewhat debating on this, but between the two of us I think a total of between $30-$40 a month. - Dedicated IP - Included WHMCS is a MUST! - Domain would be nice as well, not a requirement. I'm not sure if that's asking too much, but I hope not. We've been looking at the following two sites mainly: FranTech (even though the plans don't meet my hard drive requirements) and SuperGreenHosting(meets basically everything, not sure about the dedicated IP). We're really looking at SuperGreenHosting because the plans are pretty good. So, does anybody have any reviews of the above sites? I've heard Frantech is below average, not the best site, however we were looking at it because it is a Canadian company (and we're Canadian). Is there anything somebody new into the market needs to know? We've got ideas on how to manage the host, what we can sell and we're not planning to oversell too much but the option is always good to have. Anyways, enough rambling from me. Thanks in advance! P.S: Sorry, but apparently I can't use BBCode.

Mmmm, for $40 a month you could get a nicer VPS and offer all that you want. There might be extra fees for plugins and addons, but it's worth investing.

While I like the VPS idea (by the way, WooServers has amazing VPS deals - might be coming there in the near future ) we're loosing out on a lot of features. No cPanel, no WHMCS, and no domain. While on the upside, it does offer more bandwidth and more hard drive space. It might be worth looking into, thanks for your advice!

I disagree with the three posts above me. Although you do have a very good budget for this project, unless you have a need for root access and your own "server", I think that a reliable reseller plan is the way to go. It will allow you to host these sites without having to worry about technical aspects and will include things like cPanel/WHM, WHMCS, etc. for free.

I agree with XeHSean. Currently I help administer a web company that I have both WHM and root for. I've never needed to use root, and if there's any issues that I can't fix I'm sure the company would help. Also, we don't want to start with a VPS. Perhaps if we get bigger and need more demands, but right now we want to start with a reseller. @Martyn-ISN: Kind of expensive though, they don't offer a lot of bandwidth either.

Have you tried looking at the reseller hosting offers forum? You should have no problem finding a reliable provider that can fill your needs.
