What version of Plesk are you using ? What version of sql was the backup of your database taken from ? What is the version (exact) of mysql server on the new plesk server ? What is the size of your backup ? - Aria Last edited by Avesta-Aria; 03-20-2014 at 11:40 AM. Reason: nevermind sql or mysql, got it

1- Plesk 11.5 2- i dont know, but really is important? 3- MySQL connector V3.51.25 | Microsoft SQL server 2012 V 11.1.3000 4- 18MB

Try setting wait_timeout to 600 and max_allowed_packet is 64M. Max allowed packet is way too high. Such a high value is not needed.

Normally you get this error when your session times out. Had to tried to import backup once again after you got this error message?

How big the backup/dump file? I see its hitting the error at line 1 itself. May be you can open that file and see what its trying to do at Line 1.

My experience with MSSQL is limited, but have extensive experience with MySQL. There is a tool that I use called 'MySQL Workbench'. It is provided by MySQL themselves and it is a widely used tool to run queries and to export results. There is a migration wizard in this tool and you can use it to import the MSSQL database to MySQL. It should be seamless. Let me know if you come across any issues while using it. I don't think you can use the general 'mysql' command to import database from MSSQL.

If its a MSSQL backup file, then you have no reasons to restore it to mysql. Do you have powerpack on your plesk installation ? If you do, then you can simply login to your plesk panel, navigate to the target host and restore the .bak file using the GUI of plesk panel itself, but to MSSQL database NOT mysql. If you do not have powerpack, you need to obtain the license for it in order to be able to use mssql as a function in your plesk installation and offer it to your clients. If you did all the above and still couldn't get it done, I would be interested in taking a look at your server personally and troubleshoot your plesk installation since during my 8 years experience with windows hosting using plesk and WSP, this is the first time I see such an error. - Aria

i underestand, thanks but there is any tools for convert MSsql to mysql? or i can install in Plesk 11 MSsql? Thanks.

Yes. Just use the Migration Wizard available with MySQL Workbench. You can download it from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/tools/workbench/ .

Not sure what you mean by converting the SQL, I would recommend against it if you don't necessarily need a mySQL functionality that doesn't exists in MSSQL. Yes, that's what I initially pointed out when I mentioned "you need to obtain a powerpack license in order to allow mssql functionality to your clients" - Aria

i found solotion, that is very very easy, that is not Hard 1- login to administrator server, then from top menu, server, then click on "Updates and Upgrades" and then click on "Add/Remove Components" and then you can select " MSSQL 2008 server " for install. Have Enjoy and like me
