westnic issues

Hi, Im a westnic reseller in Australia. I've read a lot of people with good experiences with westnic here, which made me go with them in the first place. My issue is that they seem to have most of there downtime around 6-9pm Aust. East Standard Time and I need a solution for this. It isn't that often but i does hurt when it happens. Of course, they say there is no issue or dos attacks don't count as downtime etc. Anyways I need a solution without immediatly cha nging providers (as im in contract with them) There is normally no notification of these downtimes or dos attacks. In fact on one time they advised that they emailed us, even theough they hadnt. Anyways I digress, could I set up my clients with other nameservers that are located elsewhere with some kind of landing page that could be used in the event that westnic goes down. Is it as simple as adding the nameservers to the registrar. If not, what other solutions do I have here? Cheers

Have you tried contacting westnic support about this?

Yes, of course. They deny a problem which is the most frustrating thing. So yeah, I really need a solution. Another reason for needing a solution is that we are expanding into the web design field and have some rather large contracts coming through, which makes me worry even more.

You could look for DNS failover services. Personally, I'd just look for a better provider and move.

They have a large number of servers in different locations, why not ask them to move you to another server or location.

If they don't recognize the problem, there is not a very good chance that it will get resolved. Perhaps you should look into switching providers?

Nonsense. *Current* monthly uptime is 100% (30 day) on every, I repeat, every reseller server. There are no tickets regarding downtime either. Also, how could DoS attack NOT be counted as downtime? Downtime means what it says, regardless of the issue.

We need proofs, not just words.

Absolutely correct, I would be happy to see at least 1 traceroute from OP "around 6-9pm Aust. East Standard Time"
