WHMCS Question hope someone has an answer

Hello I am in the process of purchasing a small hosting company who uses WHMCS and paypal for its subscriptions. I was wondering how do we switch the what paypal email the subscription payments are sent to? He thinks you can just go into the admin section (WHMCS) and goto configuration/payment gateways/paypal and switch the email address there and all the current subscrition payments will now go to the new email.. Does this sound right? Thanks for any help HT

PayPal subscriptions are database driven (PayPals end) not by PayPal email. You would need to contact the clients on subscriptions and ask them to renew their subscription on the next renewal date. Unless of course you are given full rights to the sellers business PayPal account.

Have him login to WHMCS and submit a ticket asking for it to be transferred into your name and they will e-mail you and such confirming your identity and it'll be handed off to you. Have the person cancel his subscription in paypal and then when it's completely in your hands, WHMCS will help you take care of the rest. That or you can sign up for a new account, buy a license, and have him cancel his and then you can use your new one on that domain.

With the buyout, would you get the domain as well including the PayPal email account currently used? Then simply update the PayPal account profile, and request a name change. You can do this as I have done this for the exact same reason. Ask your seller to do this and submit a name change since the company is being acquired by you. It can be done.

That's probably the best option but barring that you can just request that the seller of the company cancel all outstanding PayPal subscriptions which will cause all of the clients to have to set up new ones with your company.
