Solid and established reseller hosting

Posted by magicvorlon, 07-11-2009, 07:05 PM
I`m looking for a few names with regards to a cPanel linux reseller plan for a project. I am also looking through the offers page. The find a host feature does not interest me as most replies I get never read my requirements! I appreciate for a better service it pays to pay more - this is not a problem. Requirements are: 1: cPanel/WHM 2: Space: 15gb, Traffic: 150gb 3: CentOS 4: Server not to be overcrowded, very important and server to be well monitored for other clients who abuse. 5: For now, not interested in a managed vps, although perhaps later. 6: Datacentre located in Illinois/Michigan or east coast area. 7: Host must be established, not a here today gone tomorrow, please no 15yr old kiddie "companies". 8: Anonymous server names and rDNS. 9: Always available support not manned by one person who goes to bed at night (one man company)! THanks.

Go through the reseller hosting offers section and make a rough list of a few companies. Next, search around wht/google for reviews on this company to narrow down your selection. What is your budget?

What is your maximum budget in regards to those specifications and requirements? It's definitely possible to get all that within a reseller provider. You're probably looking for ones who do not oversell or only oversells lightly if you want to be put on a server with non-crowded servers. I would suggest you to make a shortlist and contact each individual company that you're interested in regarding the anonymous servers and reverse DNS though as these features may not always come default from all reseller hosting providers. Good luck in your search!

Hard to say, I don`t really have a maximum budget. I have enough common sense to know to spend $5 a month is just asking for trouble. If I get good vibes about a company I`m happy to pay for it. A few years ago, quite a few companies were offering WHM semi-dedicated plans, usually with half a dozen to a dozen accounts on a server, seems those things are no longer flavour of the month.

Semi-dedicated plans are more expensive to offer and a lot of hosts still do.

What sort of hosting featurs on the server are you looking for? (If any) such as PHP versions, media tools, etc? A couple of companies such as Host Gator (http://www.hostgator.com/resellers.shtml) or ResellersPanel (http://www.resellerspanel.com/cpanel_program/) offer what you require. Unsure on there network location but both are large companies. Hope this helps.

Agreed Hostgator will fill all needs except for geographically. I doubt you'll see any difference in network throughput...maybe a few ms.

Try Aquariusstorage they run most of their servers from the Liquid Web Data Center in Lansing. I use them as well and have been happy with them. Will submit my domain info to the mods so they can verify it.

Thanks for verifying the domain

My AquariusStorage VPS is great, so I don't think their reseller hosting will be any worst. Many hosts can fit your requirements. Just look around the forums for reviews - that will help you the most.
