narrowed down to two

i've been anonymously reading webhostingtalk threads everyday for atleast a week now in search of a good hosting company that could: 1. host my would-be vbulletin forum 2. accomodate my low-traffic client sites that runs on Joomla! 3. allow me to resell The two companies that stood out are Innohosting and Hostgator- and I think I'm gonna try Innohosting first because they have a lower starting rate of $16.95 only. I've been a Wild West Domain reseller for a year now but some of the things that members here talk about are alien to me.. stuff such as the "oversell" concept. Does this happen when you are giving out more bandwidth than you can? Sorry if I'm so clueless... Another question with regards to the $16.95 plan with Innohosting. How many websites can you cram in this plan? Say, I have about 10 existing websites hosted / parked elsewhere, Can my $16.95 plan with Innohosting accomodate them all?

Overselling happens when you offer more bandwidth than you have, not when you use it. For example, IH gives you 100 GB of bandwidth. If you were to create a package for your 10 sites with a bandwidth limit of 10 GB each, you not be overselling. If you were to give them 25 GB each, you WOULD be overselling, because 25 GB x 10 accounts is 250 GB that you have allocated to your clients, when you only have 100 GB allocated to you by your host. Overselling is ok if you do it carefully. You could probably safely give your clients 25 GB limits because not all will use the full amount. If you are thinking of overselling start off lower. You can always increase your package limits later on. Yes, their $16.95 plan should be sufficient, assuming your sites are average in size.

Another question with regards to the $16.95 plan with Innohosting. How many websites can you cram in this plan? Say, I have about 10 existing websites hosted / parked elsewhere, Can my $16.95 plan with Innohosting accomodate them all? If I was you I would go with the $19.95 plan as you get WHMCS (which normally prices $15/month) free, and if you want to sell hosting I seriously recommend that software as it will automate the whole process. The average website is around 100MB - 1GB in size, so that should give you an idea of the amount of sites you can host.

Overselling happens when you offer more bandwidth than you have Overselling of disk space is also very common too, just look at HostGators plans, unlimited disk space.

The two companies that stood out are Innohosting and Hostgator Sorry for the triple post If hostgators reseller account are anything like their shared account, then I would not recommend them, as many people (including me) have had serious problems with HG and the shared accounts.

InnoHosting is a great company -- you shouldn't have any problems with them. I've had good experiences with both companies.

Read all the reviews and decide which is the bes for you. Depends how much traffic you get on those 10 websites.

Those 10 sites are keyword dot coms that I registered last week. I'm experimenting with SEO, domaining, and google adsense. I want to find out once and for all of this gig can really provide a decent amount of money. They are currently parked with godaddy btw and I am not linking yet. So yes, we are talking about zero traffic sites here. Hopefully Innohosting will give enough time to upgrade if need be.

Both sites seem to have expensive costs if you want to resell hosting.

Both are great. But, I personally prefer InnoHosting because you have the ability to oversell unlike HostGator.

okay. I signed up with the Business Plan and was all excited only to find out that since it's a Sunday, I won't be able to play with my new account until tomorrow Monday =*(
