HostV Offline?

Posted by Mekhu, 02-04-2010, 02:20 PM
Our hobby VPS has been offline more than online for almost 3-4 days now. Not sure what is going on at HostV but this is rather pathetic. I'm not the account owner any longer so I'm not 100% sure what's going on. All I've been told is it's not just us offline... We were offline most of yesterday, turned back on last night and now things just went offline again... Anyone else getting this?

Hi Are you sure the VPS has been paid for? Please private message me your account details so I can check, only chance is there is suspension/termination of the VPS. Cheers

Yes, the VPS is 100% paid for. Actually, a refund request for the downtime was rejected last night and a credit for next month was suggested by your staff. That to me doesn't sound like lack of payment. As of right now all I know is "All domains on that VPS aren't working, so it isn't the forum.. it's the host."

Hi We have updated all VPS nodes last night with latest patches and kernels and out of which ONE Node is offline due to disk errors after rebooting in RAID format, we're still trying to resolve it but will restore from R1Soft backup if no luck soon. That might be the NODE your VPS is on. Please private message me the IP ADDRESS or contact our support dept. and we'll take a look. Cheers

I'm not the account owner so I can't contact support. I believe he has. I was more curious if this was isolated or not and it sounds like it is. Honestly, I've never been a fan of your company. We'll be moving away this evening when the VPS comes back online.

Thanks Cirtex. If you had to recommend a competitor, who would it be and why?

He won't - It's his company. HostV is a good company, just because of one bad experience doesn't mean you should bail ship. You should ride the storm, and soon enough all will be well. Seeing as you said you aren't the account holder, how do you know that the person that's getting the vps actually paid up? More times than not that's the case.

I recommend competitors to my clients all the time. If I can't make them happy, might as well let someone else try. 1. I was the original account owner. From day one we experienced many outages and issues. 2. We've rode the storm and now we're offline... Again. I'm not about to stay with them. 3. I have access to our Hobby website financials and yup, it's paid Also, did you not see my note about HostV support confirming our VPS is down. After requesting a refund were told that wasn't possible but a credit could be worked out. Yeah, no thanks... Anyways, I do agree this is just affecting us. But unfortunately it's been affecting us for far too long.

I'm a bit confused. You said you don't have access to the client area at HostV, but now you do?

My friend, at this time i still don't know your account info or ticket id. If you private message me or private me with that info I can dig deeper, otherwise all operations are normal and only one node is down and restoring services to it asap. Cheers

What's confusing?

You said "I'm not the account owner so I can't contact support" But then you say you are. Sounds phishy, I'm not going to lie....

I "was" the account owner. And yeah, you got me. I'm a member since 2001 looking to cause trouble and bad mouth a company for no reason And sorry to come across as a dick but care to quote where I said I was the account holder?
