WAMP server suggestion
Posted by hostaq, 05-12-2013, 02:31 PM |
I am looking for a light wight WAMP server that can allow me to edit the httpd.conf file
I have tried many the available WAMP packages, but none of them are working when I edit the httpd.conf file
For me important is Apache even if I don't get PHP and MySQL no problem

If you are using Windows, better go for IIS otherwise use Linux instead if you want Apache.
If you are not familiar with editing httpd.conf, try to install cPanel instead.

Yeah, why not use Linux if you need Apache?
That seems weird. Are the changes not reflecting? Are you getting any errors?

Interesting, three answers but nobody cared to answer the question
What do you mean by WAMP server? Do you want an actual server or a WAMP installation? In the latter case httpd.conf should be always "editable". Apache takes its basic configuration from there.
Generally however I would rather recommend to install the component individually.
