Looking for FULL WHITE LEVEL reseller plans.

Posted by Taba-Promos, 04-27-2008, 09:13 PM
Hi all! I have a friend that is interested in starting his own webhosting company. I am helping him to find a good hosting provider. What we are looking for, specially, is a full white level reseller. * What do you mean with full white level reseller? What we mean is not only the private dns that all hosting companies offer, what we require also is a company that has anonymous hostnames on their servers. Becuase clients or resellers can find our provider looking into the phpinfo or if they are resellers looking into the server information part in the WHM. We are also looking for this: *The possibility to have own resellers. I have heard about the WHM reseller addon or IR-Panel from InnoHosting. * RvSkins or the possibility to have the cpanel in Spanish. * A site builder * 20-30 GB Webspace * 300 - 500 GB Bandwidth * Fantastico or Instalatron That would be enough for us. We find something like this in http://crissic.com/, but they don't use annonymous hostnames, just server.crissic.com or something like that Thank you.

Hello! I think most reseller providers use private domains for hostnames.. What is your budget?

Is this true for all of their boxes--perhaps they have some generic hostnames on some, or did you already check this out?

The live chat operator (Sky somehting) told me about that. I have to tell them how to put the hostname for what I'm looking for. LOL! I don't know how they sell master whm, as resellers of their clients would easily find out providers. My budget is more or less between $20 - $40.

http://www.flyhigh.net provides all that

Very reasonable budget for a premium plan, and I see no problem finding all that you're after for that sum. On a box with a generic hostname that doesn't trace back to your host, you should be pretty safe from prying eyes. It also helps if the IP range is owned by a large data center or the like.

From previous experience myself, the WHMReseller addon is quite buggy or at least it used to be. Not sure if it has been improved upon. Never really understood the great idea of a being able to create reseller accounts inside a reseller account, has potential of getting out of hand on a shared server. I think if I was to offer reseller hosting I would go for a high end vps or dedicated box at least then you have it all to yourself. I think a lot of reseller providers would offer private nameservers and use anonymous names for their servers.

I will help my friend to start with a Reseller account, just to start I think It would be perfect for him. If he succeeds in the future, yes, we might consider for a VPS or dedicated server, depending on the profits. Thank you.

To be quite honest you have been the first person who has ever brought up the white-label reselling with our company over LiveHelp, support ticket, or via phone. It is something I will definitely look into, but as of now we do not provide the white-label reseller. Regardless if you mask it, there are still other ways to look up who the server belongs to (IE via the IP, just do a whois on it, and you can view other domains hosted on that server using that IP, etc.). The best way to experience a more "white-label" reseller, would simply be to purchase a VPS to start. I will plan on purchasing a domain for the purpose of "white-label" reselling early this week, and if you wish I can inform you as soon as we have done so.

I use innohosting and they offer all that you're looking for. At least for the server that I'm on, they have generic nameserver (<>). Anyway, you may want to look into them. Last edited by Alex; 05-05-2008 at 02:56 PM.

Your requirements are perfectly ok, but do beware of "master resellers" They are by the very nature likely to be far less stable. If you can imagine they have 100 master resellers, that 100 has just 10 resellers of their own each, thats 1 thousand resellers and I'd think thats conservative. Let us know how you get on with your search. Note: Thanks Laci for the reccomendation.

I kind of understand why people want white-label reseller accounts, but I still think it's misguided. Anonymous domains generally don't work, at least not for long. A quick Google will usually reveal the host (and since it's already been mentioned, <> is a perfect example). It doesn't matter anyway - the majority of clients won't care who your supplier is, and the ones who do won't choose anyone using a reseller account (and regardless of whether your client can discover the host or not, the anonymous domain gives away the fact that it's a reseller). But don't let that push you away from a reseller account - provided you choose a quality host it's still a very easy and cost-effective way for a small business to provide a reliable hosting service. Remember, every host has an upstream supplier and most clients won't know or care who yours is. I agree with the others about master resellers - risky. But even for a regular reseller I think your disk space / transfer requirements may be too high to get you real quality hosting within that budget. Do you really need that much space? How much are you planning to charge? If you're intending to compete with the big hosts on space and price then you need to re-examine your business plan. Last edited by Alex; 05-05-2008 at 02:56 PM.

Your welcome ... I have always been a great supporter of a good company when I find one.

I believe the correct term is private-label, but keep in mind, that nothing is truly anonymous. It is not a big challenge to find out who a hosting provider is. Lastly- I don't know why but people think of reselling as a weakness, it is not, if you pick a competent reseller host-- it can be your best strength as well. Infact most new hosts who start out reselling fail at this very level, chosing an incompetent hosting company to save a few $$$.

Master Reseller hosting is pretty much the same as ordinary Reseller hosting in regards to overloading risk, it depends on the provider and whether they manage their servers properly. Obviously there is an added dimension when Resellers can create other Reseller accounts, but as much as it might surprise you all, its not an issue. I've seen 50+ servers now with Master Reseller hosting running for more than 6 months and overcrowding is simply not the big issue people seem to think. The server doesn't go out of control, its bit of a myth.

How do you know? If I am your client, and I find better costs on your provider I would move obviously. And your provider I don't think they will reject me as a client. Come one foobic

I can purchase my own IP Obviously there are other ways, but if we can scape from some of them It would be better, don't you think so? Yes, please. =)

All standard reseller and master reseller plans now come with this FREE of charge. We will NOT disclose the domain name to anybody who does not have a reseller or a master reseller, to provide the best "private-label" reseller program availible

Exellent. Just what I'm Looking for.

Posted by DATARTIM, 04-28-2008, 04:57 PM
I'm sorry but thats just not true. I am sure that some providers can manage it very well, but the overwhelming majority cannot and they are by nature far less stable on average.

Posted by rv_irl, 04-28-2008, 05:04 PM
Like anything, it has nothing to do with the software or concept, it all boils down to whoever manages the servers. You pack too many accounts and not consider growth and other consequences then obviously you will have problems. So regardless of the faults (or lack of), the server performance is essentially controlled by the provider, of which lies the responsibility of ensuring no overcrowding occurs.

Posted by DATARTIM, 04-28-2008, 05:13 PM
But I'd think you'd agree Rameen from what you just said that due the nature of "Master Resellers" and the business ethics of some who sell them, that on average they are less "reliable or stable" than normal resellers.

Oh well, I tried. Come back to this thread after you've had a year or two of experience and let me know if you still think I'm wrong. Sure you can, but it won't help you to hide your supplier. You mean some______server.com?

Posted by layer0, 04-28-2008, 06:21 PM
Nobody needs for you to "disclose" the domain to them. Open your command prompt and type: telnet crissic.com 25 Notice the hostname that appears.

good trick, thanks!

WHM Reseller is a good piece of software but the support is horrible. I am not sure there are many hosts still using it.

laughs out loud* Sorry, can`t help my self ...

I had good results with InnoHosting until I outgrew a reseller account. They really go out of their way to ensure that your account is as transparent of their presence as possible. Their support was stellar and I never had a drop of downtime. IH is a great choice for reseller hosting. -fin Thales

Again, I can't recommend inno enough either. Someone suggested another reseller site and they offer 2.5GB space and 25gb transfer for 59.95/mo! Oh my gosh! That's nothing for so much. I couldn't see very many added value to justify such a large price for so little space. I'm all for not overselling, but price gouging isn't right either.

Let's try and keep people's white label reseller domains private. Thanks, Alex
